A New York City health services organization is currently seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join one of their facilities in Brooklyn. About the Opportunity:
Department: Obstetrics and Gynecology
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
Monitor patient arrival and coordinate patient flow with the Physician and other care team members to ensure a positive patient experience
Escort patients to exam room, monitor patient wait times, assist patient in preparing for exam and advise the Physician when patient is ready
Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and documents in EMR
Perform blood draws and EKGs, as ordered
Assist the Physician with procedures as appropriate (e.g. sets up area, obtains equipment, and supplies, witness consents as needed)
Assist patients with referrals, appointments as necessary
Keeps adequate supplies available by inventorying stock on a regular basis; maintains inventory of pharmaceutical samples and maintains log book for review
Qualifications:
1+ year experience working in an OBGYN setting
High School Diploma / GED
Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program
Medical Assistant (MA) certification
EKG and Phlebotomy training

We are seeking full time Certified Medical Assistants (Bilingual English/Spanish) to join our team at Plaza del Sol Family Health Center (PDS)! As a Medical Assistant at PDS, you will support providers in the areas of internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and other support services.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma required along with Medical Assistant Certificate from accredited program required.
0-1 year of previous experience working in healthcare setting.
Bilingual English and Spanish

Key Duties:

Maintains clinical logs including glucometers and room logs.
Performs CLIA Waived testing, EKGs, and Nitric Oxide tests.
Registers and verifies patient demographics.
Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Schedule is based on 40 regular hours per week and 5 days a week- Candidates must possess availability to work 5 day shifts that fall between the hours of 7am-6pm between Mondays and Saturdays.
