Overview
The Hospice Aide is a trained caregiver who provides personal care and support services to hospice patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Case Manager or the Manager/Director of Clinical Services. Assignments are made based on the plan of care and the aide's training and competency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care as assigned, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and skin care.
Assist with ambulation, transferring, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises as instructed.
Observe and report changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse.

Provide companionship, emotional support, and socialization to patients, fostering comfort and dignity during care.
Take and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) if trained and assigned by the nurse.

Provide short-term respite to family caregivers during scheduled visits, when appropriate.
