DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will provide non-professional nursing care to the residents at Southwestern Veterans' Center. This will involve contributing to plans of care by actively participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans. You will assist patients in performing activities of daily living, as well as make rounds throughout your shift. Your duties will include distributing meal trays, applying safety devices, applying medications, and reporting data such as vital signs. You can expect to transport and escort patients and collect specimens as needed such as urine, feces, or sputum. Additionally, you will record all services performed for residents and maintain a safe environment in residents' room by addressing hazards with the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends, with every other weekend off.
1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Performs customer service rounding and surveys for patients upon request of nursing leadership. Answers call bells in a timely manner and communicates needs to responsible staff, or handles themselves if a simple request. Follows up to ensure that call bells have been addressed.Electronic Order Management and Order Processing Provides assistance to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as needed in accurate and efficient entry of computer orders (CPOE). Promotes and encourages CPOE. Demonstrates knowledge of order sets that the practitioners may use with CPOE. Actively uses Soarian feedback to report to CMIO and physician analysts any physicians who need monitoring or follow up on their CPOE practices. Provides for the accurate and timely processing of Orders, including follow up phone calls, completing consult forms and legibly transcribing on the kardex or any other forms. Monitors frequently for new alerts and other new items on electronic work lists such as Order Acknowledgement Work list, Alerts Work List and Interventions Work List. Notifies the nurses and nursing assistants promptly of any new orders, discontinued orders, alerts, specimens to be collected or treatments. Checks hourly for Order Session Summary reports while still in existence. Reprints orders from Reprint Facility or Operational Reporting as needed. Ensures that the Transfer Level of Care Med Rec Report is on the chart of all preoperative patients. Flags the physical chart when any new orders have been written or electronically entered. Follows unit protocol for dispatch of written medication orders to Pharmacy. Communicates stat orders to the nurse immediately upon receipt. Enters into Soarian any written non-medication patient care orders. Ensures that labeled specimens are sent to laboratory promptly, when requested. Notifies RN if there are any unclear or incorrect orders. Recopies Kardex or other forms when needed. Reviews Kardex or Daily Clipboard for Daily Lab Orders and enters these for the next day. With RN input, addresses and removes all remaining new orders from the work list before shift change and discharge. Performs Order Entry, Cancel Order, Order Inquiry functions when needed. Reviews orders regularly. Facilitates the patient schedule. Coordinates when there are multiple tests ordered and keeps track of patient location. Monitors specialty bed ordering and discontinuation when patient no longer needs. Initiates the location order set for inpatients who are going to surgery.Chart Management Places correct labels on all paper chart forms (front and back). Ensures all chart forms are properly labeled. Adds blank forms to charts as needed. Keeps charts neat and pages secure (reinforced). Maintains charts in accordance with CCH Policy & Procedure for sequence. Neatly files any remaining paper chart forms into their appropriate location. Prints or copies records for patient transfer to another institution when case management is not available. Monitors isolation census in consultation with RN- removing patient from isolation and discontinuing isolation equipment if screening has returned negative. Primary Responsibilities
Assisting residents with all care needs including bathing, dressing, continence care, dining and mobility support
Engaging residents through interaction and conversation, as well as programs and activities
Working hand in hand with the nursing team to ensure resident care needs are met.
Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work environment and assisting residents by maintaining resident rooms
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification
Current State Nurse'sAide Registration
Experience and passion in working with seniors.
Able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members.
In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases
Maplewood Senior Living conducts pre-employment screening including background check, drug screening, and reference checks.
Due to Department of Public Health requirements, all candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (1 st vaccine, 2 nd vaccine, and booster) before commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption from Maplewood. Those who do not obtain full vaccination and booster within that time frame, without an approved exemption, will be terminated.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a NurseAide, it is crucial that you provide compassionate care to residents by meeting their personal hygiene, physical, and emotional needs. Your role is integral in maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment for the residents while meeting licensing requirements. You will also have the opportunity to participate in rehabilitation and restorative programs, working alongside professional staff to help residents achieve their highest level of independence and self-fulfillment. Utilizing your therapeutic communication and crisis prevention skills, you will foster positive interactions with residents and serve as their advocate. Additionally, you will play a vital role in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for each resident, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for their rehabilitation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), with a 30-minute lunch or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), with no lunch.
You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
You schedule may change based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Active registration as a NurseAide in the PennsylvaniaNurseAide Registry; or
Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a NurseAide in the PennsylvaniaNurseAide Registry.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
