    Basic Purpose Supports the preparation and filing of required reports with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) and other required external financial reporting for the Company. Performs analysis for other nonpublic external financial reports and internal reports including reports provided to the Corporate Headquarters. Provides technical direction and an initial level of review to less experienced team members. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and assists in managing the preparation and filing of required reports with the SEC, FERC and other required external financial reporting for the Company. Prepares financial reports or schedules for inclusion in required external financial reports. Analyzes, reviews, and approves financial information received through the internal corporate reporting process or from other team members in preparation for inclusion in required external financial reports. Oversees and administers the preparation timelines for the Company's required external financial reports. Compiles, formats, and reviews SEC reports in preparation for filing including performing XBRL tagging. Reviews reporting documents to ensure consistency and accuracy of presentation and disclosure of subsidiary financial statements with corresponding Corporate Headquarters' period filings. Prepares responses to information and data requests from Corporate Headquarters in support of this review process. Analyzes, reviews and approves financial information received through the internal corporate reporting process or from other team members to be provided to the Corporate Headquarters. Ensures internal reports are submitted in a timely manner in adherence with the Corporate Headquarters' reporting timeline. Ensures personal development relative to new SEC requirements, FERC requirements and US GAAP. Performs technical research on SEC requirements, FERC requirements and US GAAP. Prepares technical white papers by interpreting guidance and applying experience and principles to resolve accounting issues including consideration and documentation of the regulatory implications. Participates in the monthly financial close by reviewing financial statements for possible errors, resolving accounting issues identified by team members, and ensuring that the team adheres to the Corporate Headquarters' reporting timeline. Prepares and records journal entries and reviews journal entries prepared by other team members to support accurate financial reporting. Prepares account reconciliations and reviews account reconciliations prepared by other team members as assigned. Leads accounting projects and/or process improvements by identifying opportunities for improvement, developing new processes or policies and then implementing these processes or policies. Prepares schedules for general and deferred rate cases, utilizes knowledge to respond to data requests from interveners and contributes to the preparation of witness testimony. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in accounting or a related field and 6 years of related work experience. If degree is a in a related field, applicant must have completed college-level coursework required for Nevada CPAs. Overview The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Project Manager - Utilities. The Project Manager oversees all water and wastewater utility construction projects from initial contract negotiations through warranty termination for 4 branch companies of Great Basin Water Co. located in NV. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and directing various activities associated with the projects ensuring that they are completed by job specification, on schedule and within budget. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless utility service. Work Location and Schedule This position will be based in Pahrump, NV. Up to 25% of time travel for training, meetings and project management. What You'll Do Oversees complex technical projects, adhering to strict goals and deadlines. Creates and maintains activity and progress reports for internal and external customers. Responsible for all project development. Hires, directs, evaluates and disciplines Construction Inspectors. Obtains engineering proposals, monitors project budgets, construction activity and coordinates timing with operations. Tracks all budget related information, such as hours worked and expenses, etc. Coordinates all daily activities and personnel for each project. Processes paperwork, including invoices, for each project in a timely manner and submits to operations leadership. Ensures the success of projects, while remaining in line with time and budget parameters. Notifies management staff of any current or pending escalations relating to projects, or items that could impact the success of projects. Coordinates and completes the work necessary to obtain approval on emergency projects. Constant, independent travel daily between worksites on Company time. What You'll Bring Experience Requires a minimum of 3 years engineering experience, preferably related to water and/or wastewater projects and design. Two or more years' experience in water and wastewater utility operation and/or design, including distribution infrastructure, storage tank and wastewater treatment plant construction. Education and Licenses Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or similar field required Must maintain a valid driver's license Nice to have Nevada Water Treatment Operator Grade III Certificate preferred. Possession of an American Water Works Association (AWWA) Grade I Distribution Systems Certificate preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to calculate basic geometric equations. Ability to read and interpret soil and hydro-geological reports and maps. Ability to complete work that will ensure the approval of all capital projects in a timely manner. Ability to keep accurate records and prepare and submit accurate reports. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, including negotiating, decision-making research and analysis, and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide safe working conditions for fellow workers. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with engineers, subcontractors, vendors and co-workers. Ability to understand and implement a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to motivate others in the pursuit of Company goals.
