A Senior Mortgage Underwriter will take responsibility for the daily underwriting processes for our Conventional, FHA and VA loans. Your attention to detail will have a direct impact on our customers' ability to secure a loan for their dream home. This position is remote: however, you must be willing to attend onsite meetings as needed Primary Responsibilities * Underwrite loans for compliance with investor and/or agency guidelines. * Submit loans through an automated underwriting system for a decision. * Approve or pend loans; present appropriate loans daily to loan committee. * Assist branches with underwriting questions, scenarios and problems. * Maintain 24 - 48 hour underwriting turnaround for new loans and resubmissions. * Operation of office equipment and maintenance of loan filing system. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, Social Welfare, Public Administration, or human services-related field (preferred) 10 + years of proven experience leading a large organization through transformation and change at a similar leadership level in federal, state, or local government, or a large nonprofit organization or corporation that provides health and human services or social services. Experience working in the Health and Human Services domain. Experience with Early childhood programs (childcare and Head Start). Managed state-wide staff within permanency programs. Experience working in Child welfare and public child welfare information systems. Oversees child welfare product solution design and innovation. Experience with a state agency in the Health and Human Services Department. Managed statewide staff within permanency programs. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
