KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education

Job Description
It is recognized that the Company is engaged in a public service requiring continuous operation, and it is agreed that recognition of such an obligation of continuous service is imposed upon both the Company and the Union.
Perform all duties of a journeyman lineman in connection with construction, operation, and maintenance work on dead or energized overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines.
DUTIES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Work safely
Rack, insulate, splice, and terminate leaded and nonleaded cables. This work will be performed in vaults, pad mounts, manholes, hand holes, and trenches, or on structures or poles.
Install and connect transformers. The work shall include but not be limited to installing main line service boxes, main line disconnect blocks or switches; network protector testing; jumpering customers' services; and other types of hot secondary wiring including residential underground. Above work is on hot lines with extremely high short-circuit currents.
Install conduits.
Install and connect transformers in customers' vaults as well as Company vaults.
Do primary switching in the underground area and switch lines at all voltages.
Install and maintain streetlight standards and streetlight equipment.
Install and remove all types of transformers, arresters, fuses, cutouts, switches, and street lighting equipment.
Drive Company vehicles, both cars and trucks.
Assist cable splicer as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Will be required to live within a reasonable distance of headquarters.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required)
Journeyman Lineman card required.
Hot line experience required.
Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver's license.
Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA required.
Asbestos physical and fit test for respirator are required and must be maintained.

Implement -
* Automate IAM processes to reduce manual effort.

Operate -
* Provide IAM administration as well as maintenance of user access roles including reviewing changes in the production environments and coordinating with the key stakeholders from IT, business delivery teams, and third-party vendors.

Summary

Your Role:
Project Controls Designs and implements project controls to help ensure scheduling, cost control, regulatory, reporting and other project requirements are met. Identifies budgetary and schedule risks and recommends remediation.
Project Cost Control Management Develops, monitors, and updates project cash flows on a monthly basis, monitors against corporate budget.
Ensures costs are accurately reflected in PGEs financial statements, future financing needs for the company are accurately portrayed, and accurate annual cash flow forecasts are provided to Portfolio Management for annual budgeting needs.
Project Scheduling Develops project schedules with the appropriate level of detail and scope to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and to meet the needs for timely and accurate project development and execution; coordinates and integrates schedules from other organizations supporting the project; works with project workgroups to resolve important and critical material and schedule issues or concerns. Develops and maintains milestone schedules.
Monitoring Monitors project during all phases to identify real or potential deviations to project plans; identifies scoping changes, analyzes impacts and adjusts project plans accordingly. Communicates variances and works with project/program team to obtain appropriate level change approval as required.
Project Reporting and Documentation Works with project/program team to ensure coordination of efforts to issue timely, accurate project reports on project schedules, costs, problems, risks and other significant issues; develops and provides information, reports and presentations to key stakeholders and other company entities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Power Supply Management - Monitors reservoir levels, wind forecasts and fuels supply to optimize use of generation resources and arrange generation operations to meet load and reserve requirements for each hour; utilizes outage information to ensure efficient commodity market dispatch of PGE generating facilities; develops and submits base schedules and energy bids to the commodity market operator on an hourly basis; schedules short-term interutility exchanges of power and related power products; negotiates and purchases hourly and daily supplies of energy; determines price/risk tradeoffs of various power system operating strategies; implements term and day-ahead contracts based on negotiated terms; develops day- ahead schedules for controllable resources.
Power Marketing - Negotiates real-time energy sales, purchases and wheeling arrangements with other entities, including hourly and daily sales of surplus power throughout the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC); analyzes and develops near-term wholesale marketing and commodity market bidding strategies; identifies and evaluates price/risk tradeoffs of various power sale/supply/transmission scenarios; implements near-term wholesale market strategies to meet revenue objectives; monitors West Coast power markets to capture market information that will facilitate economic transactions.
Accounting and Reporting - Documents and maintains records for PGE's Merchant Real Time Operations' activities and wholesale power transactions; produces reports for governmental agencies, merchants, balancing authorities, accounting and contracting personnel and others as required.
Transmission Management - Redirects and/or purchases transmission to meet PGE's needs for Merchant Real Time Operations' activities; resells PGE purchased transmission that is surplus; provides for efficient and economic transfer of system resources within the EIM footprint; accounts for all transmission activities.

Summary:
System Protection provides engineering for the design and operation of protective relays and their logic schemes for transmission, distribution, and generation systems to detect abnormal power system conditions and initiates corrective action to return the power system to its normal state. Protection engineering deals with protecting the electrical power system from faults through the isolation of faulted parts from the rest of the electrical network.
As a Protection Testing Engineer, you will provide test and energization support for field technicians during implementation and operation of protective relays for transmission, distribution, and generation systems. Additional job duties may include providing engineering of system protection and protection maintenance/operation support including, but not limited to developing protection requirements, creating relay settings, performing fault studies, analyzing system events.

Responsibilities
Protection Testing Engineer, p2:
Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and independently applies professional knowledge of engineering processes and standards.
Ensures QA activities are well documented and ensures proper document control to meet NERC reliability audit requirements; gathers data and provides documentation review to establish PGE compliance with WECC and FERC protection criteria; maintains a high level of engineering proficiency within the field of specialization and up-to-date technical knowledge of all current techniques, applicable codes, and regulations.
Analyzes and performs technical studies; reviews work performed by other engineers; contributes to operational assessments of system disturbances.

Ensures control systems efficiently check schemes by eliminating duplications while ensuring compliance to WECC standards. Coordinates development of postconstruction QA checklist; provides engineering support to operations personnel for switching and load restoration activities.
Assigns tasks and coordinates with other internal/external team members as directed on less complex projects; shares information and provides professional guidance in executing project tasks. Coordinates projects with outside entities including PGE System Control Center, other interconnected utilities, major customers through key customer managers and other PGE departments. Partners with construction engineers to develop high level sequenced construction plan with major shutdown requirements; provides engineering expertise to construction crews on design and construction issues (e.g., constructability reviews, design philosophy, design additions or changes during construction, equipment integration). Summary:
Portland General Electric is seeking a Control Systems Engineer who will have the unique opportunity to work on the conceptual design, programming, configuration development, testing, and commissioning of SCADA and Automation systems used in our power utility substations and distribution systems.
In this role, you will handle complex assignments applying industrial and utility automation standards to select and program both field and central system components. You'll ensure substation integration and automation systems provide clear, concise, and real-time operational field information for System Control Center Dispatch functions, coordinating with EMS and PI databases structured to match substation equipment. Required:
Education:

The position works cross-functionally with internal teams-including legal, regulatory, external affairs, and planning-and engages with counterparties, developers, policymakers, communities, and regional market participants to influence transmission policy and market design.
In addition, the Manager is accountable for supporting the development of customer-facing clean energy products that empower large and small customers to meet their decarbonization goals. This includes structuring offerings such as voluntary renewable programs, subscription-based supply models, and customized solutions for large loads and emerging sectors.

Day to Day:
In this role, you will engage in a variety of activities that support these core functions, with responsibilities ranging from assisting and preparing to reviewing and overseeing. Examples include:
* Provision Support - Assist in preparing income tax provisions and related workpapers, including forecasts and internal control considerations.
* Tax Compliance - Prepare or review income and indirect tax returns, supporting schedules, documentation, estimates, and extensions. Provide oversight and guidance to business segments on local tax matters.
* Research & Analysis - Gather data, perform initial analysis, draft summaries of findings, and recommend conclusions for tax research projects.
* Regulatory Interaction - Contribute to the preparation of regulatory utility filings and assist in responding to inquiries from taxing authorities, including developing resolution strategies.
* Process & Technology Initiatives - Participate in projects aimed at improving data quality, automation, and reporting processes.
* Collaboration & Development - Work closely with team members on professional development initiatives, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Come on your first day with:
* Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business or related field
* 5 to 7 years of progressive corporate income tax and tax accounting experience (prefer 4 to 5 of those years in public accounting). Additional years of experience required for a level 3 position.
* Prefer active Certified Public Accountant license
* Demonstrated ability to prepare and review a provision for income taxes under US GAAP
* Demonstrated knowledge and ability to prepare a US federal consolidated income tax return and related state consolidated or combined returns, including supporting documentation
* Working knowledge of current domestic federal and state laws and regulations governing corporate income taxes
* Solid understanding of general accounting principles and the journal entry process, including how entries flow through the general ledger and trial balance, with the ability to analyze account activity and reconcile balances.
* Proficient in use of current Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated ability to leverage advanced technology tools to drive efficiencies and automation in tax accounting and reporting processes for a level 3 position.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Base salary range: $96,000.00 - $136,800.00 (Level 2) or $107,500.00 - $153,200.00 per year, depending on qualifications
Annual Target Incentive: Level 2, 9.5% target
Level 3, 12.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
