O'Bannon Bank company history timeline

1901

On February 22, 1963 the bank opened for business in a new building that was constructed on the site where the previous Bank and Post office were located. It was March 18, 1901 when three men recognized the need for a new bank in Buffalo Missouri and formed the O’Bannon Banking Company with a capital stock of $5,000.

1905

On November 20, 1905 the bank was incorporated and became the O’Bannon Banking Company, Inc.

1962

On the evening of February 20, 1962 the building that housed the Bank and Post Office in Buffalo Missouri was destroyed by a fire.

1963

On February 22, 1963 the bank opened for business in a new building that was constructed on the site where the previous Bank and Post office were located.

1977

In 1977, the Bank opened a drive-in facility at the Junction of Highways 32 and 65 in Buffalo.

1983

In 1983, the Bank opened a second drive-in facility in the GEM Center near Fair Grove, Missouri.

1999

In 1999, as Buffalo and the surrounding community continued to expand, the Bank opened a full-service facility on South Highway 65 in Buffalo.

2002

Recognizing the need to expand beyond Dallas County and the city of Buffalo, the Bank opened its third full-service facility in Strafford, Missouri in December of 2002.

2003

In October of 2003, the Bank then opened its fourth full-service facility in Fair Grove, Missouri at which time the GEM Center facility was closed.

2010

In 2010 the bank opened its fifth full-service facility in Pleasant Hope, Missouri.

2013

In May 2013 the bank expanded on the existing bank located on Hwy 65 in Buffalo and this became the new “Main Bank” facility.

2016

Our newest facility located in Springfield Missouri opened in October 2016.
