The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and adjusting equipment on the pretzel manufacturing line to ensure efficient production, consistent product quality, and adherence to food safety standards. Job Responsibilities Operate and monitor pretzel-making equipment, including mixers, extruders, ovens, proofers, conveyors, seasoners, and packaging machines; Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, pressure, and dough consistency to maintain product specifications; Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures as required; Continuously observe equipment for proper functioning and identify any abnormalities; Ensure pretzels meet quality standards for shape, size, texture, and bake color; Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP guidelines, and food safety protocols; Maintain a clean and sanitary work area to prevent contamination; Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper PPE usage and lockout/tagout practices; Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or injuries to the supervisor; Coordinate with the maintenance team for escalated equipment issues; Work collaboratively with line workers, quality technicians, and supervisors to meet production targets; Assist with raw material loading, dough handling, seasoning changes, and packaging activities when needed; Perform other required tasks as assigned. Makes sure machine is clean and helps in putting machine together. Connects the bulk tank to machine and verifies lot number and expiration with batch ticket. Start of production follows steps in BT (line clearance and opens line.) Makes sure Lot number is printing correct on material. Changes Lot number during runs and verifies with QC and team lead. Assist packers in labeling boxes if necessary. Palletizes all finished good and moves pallets to designated QC lane.
