Job Details
Job Type:
Full-time - 40hrs from Monday- Thurs and Friday OT
Full
Since we are looking for experienced welders, we aren t going to share a job description saying what a welder does. Instead, I ll just sell you on why you should apply here. Starting by the work itself, the physical demand isn t as hard as many of the other shops around Louisville. We are a TIG welding shop that works mostly with 16-22 gauge stainless. We do a little aluminum too, but not near as much. If you are an experienced welder, but aren t certified, that is ok. We can do a welding test here to make sure you can hang with our team.
Outside of the work side, Winston is just a different manufacturing environment. We employ around 200 people, so we are big enough that you won t be worrying about your paycheck bouncing (they come weekly by the way), but small enough that you ll be on a first name basis with your coworkers and managers (probably even the CEO). While you are working, there is a good chance that you ll hear arguing between coworkers on UK vs Louisville, but that s because the people we work with are like family. We encourage a team atmosphere and like to have fun at work. We need to get the job done, but we also really want to have a place that people like working at. Oh, one last thing our regular schedule runs Mon-Thurs. So, unless we are swamped and working OT, you can plan to have off Fri-Sun.
Work Environment
Very casual clothes permitted (shorts, t-shirt, and sneakers are no problem).
You can listen to music on your headphones at work (as long as it can be done safely).
We are one of the few manufacturing plants in Louisville with AC and heating.
Can you believe that so many places won t allow you to have your cell phone with you at work? Not us. While we don t want you watching Netflix at work, we understand the importance of having your phone available.
Benefits
3-day weekend (most workweeks are Mon-Thurs)
Medical/dental/ vision available for all employees that average at least 30hrs weekly
Paid sick time, vacation days, and holidays
Retirement (401K) program with company match
Weekly pay (not every other week)
Why Winston
We re a small enough company where we like to know everyone s name, but big enough that we get to invest back into the company and our people.
You may not have heard of us, but the chances are you ve eaten something that was prepared in our foodservice equipment. We sell to a ton of restaurant chains (like McD, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc.), but are also used by some of the top chefs in the world.
We are of the mindset that if you have to spend so much time at work, we really should enjoy what we are doing.
