    West Pines Behavioral Hospital is a new 144-bed inpatient behavioral health facility serving Denver area residents located at 11455 Huron Street, Westminster, CO. A joint venture between Intermountain Health and Acadia Healthcare. Just opened in December 2024, the hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and intensive outpatient services to address the growing need for accessible, high-quality behavioral health care in the Denver metro area. Our Behavioral Health Associates are responsible for providing personal care services to patients at the facility under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety and provide excellent customer services. · Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment. · Responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring that supervision is conducted at 15 minute intervals, as noted in special precautions, or in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines as needed. · Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in patient's medical record. · Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff. · Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff. · May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration and changing bed linens. · May obtain patient's vital signs, height and weight as assigned and document in patient record. · Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups which cover a variety of topics including social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills. · Engage patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals. · Complete and maintain required documentation. Assist with follow-up and paperwork as required on incidents and events that may take place in the facility. · May provide transportation for patient or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff member. · Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. OTHER FUNCTIONS: · Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma or equivalent required. · Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: · Current CPR certification upo hire or obtained within 30 days of hire. · De-escalation and restrain certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility.)     Job Description As a Counseling Intern with our Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Team, you will not only have the opportunity to observe and learn from our counselors with the AllHealth Network FACT team at our Wellness Center location, but also to get hands on experience working with clients who need specialized care due to their criminal justice involvement and serious behavioral health symptoms. The ideal candidate will be interested in a forensic/criminal justice and mental health career. Under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist our interns will support the Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Team by providing Individual and group services hours to gain experience with assessments, treatment goals and treatment plan development. Interns will work with seriously and persistently mentally ill clients who are criminal justice involved including those released from custody awaiting competency restoration, awaiting trial and those who are on probation. All Interns will sit with clients on medication management appointments and certification appointments. Interns will therapeutically support clients when they appear in court. Interns will observe several different counselors in real-time conversations and interventions with the client and be given an opportunity lead conversations themselves. Interns will provide community based and office based services such as case management, care navigation, behavioral health counseling, rapport building and goal development, de-escalation, skills building, care coordination, clinical interventions, and psychoeducation. Interns will also liaise with the court navigator and other 18th judicial district partners such as public defenders and probation officers. As with all internships you will receive direct supervision from and be in daily contact with your internship supervisor. AllHealth Network does not allow any video recordings for school assignments. Title and Hours required: · The FACT team works Mon-Friday business hours, with Friday's ending at 3:00 in the afternoon (1/2 day). The ideal candidate will work 3 days a week.
