Position Summary The Overnight Public Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring Public Safety and customer satisfaction for external and internal customers by making regular and routine rounds of the facility to ensure that the facility is secure and safe. Following all safety and emergency procedures, directing traffic, holding assigned posts, providing assistance and information to customers, and other duties as described below. Please note, this is specific for the Overnight shift (11:00pm to 7:00am) Days off TBD This role will pay an hourly rate of $21.07 (per CBA). Benefits as per the union agreement. This position will remain open until March 13, 2026. Responsibilities * Greet all patrons and provide information regarding events, shows, and facility * Challenge unauthorized personnel in restricted areas * File written reports of incidents on shift * Take appropriate, prescribed actions in the event of an emergency * Follow and enforce established safety and security procedures * Follow and enforce established code of conduct * All duties and responsibilities as assigned * Make regular and routine rounds of facility noting and correcting unsafe or insecure conditions * Ensure orderly operations in parking garage as assigned * Provide friendly and helpful service to all customers, clients, the public and other employees * Complete and file accurate and detailed reports on activity during shift * Take further and immediate action to correct conditions as needed * Collect parking fees using computerized systems Qualifications * High School Diploma/GED required * Previous experience as a Security Guard and/or cashier or similar position preferred * Flexibility to work required hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary * Ability to physically perform the duties required of this position * Capable or oral and written communications skills * Basic computer skills including navigating keyboard and simple data entry * Respond well to direction, able to follow oral and written instructions * Ability to handle multiple priorities and to follow procedures and policies under pressure and in emergency situations * Must be able to pass criminal background check * Be flexible in accepting daily assignments/ duties * Understand safety awareness * Complete tasks timely and effectively * Follow event calendar and resumes and weekly schedules * Work as a team player * Work weekends and holidays * Attend department meetings * Maintain the cleanliness of the work environment * Clean equipment and store neatly in proper location * Complete other duties as assigned by Sergeant/Supervisors and Public Safety Manager * Ability to communicate and follow both written and orally instructions * Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods of time on a regular, daily basis * Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions and a regular, daily basis Strengthened by our Differences. Position Overview The primary responsibility of this position is to provide guests with a secure and positive experience at Walton Arts Center/Walmart AMP. Security guards will execute screening procedures and enforce policies designed to minimize risk and disruption of the event experience while ensuring a strong positive customer service interaction. Security guards are expected to uphold the values of the organization and to follow Walton Arts Center/Walmart AMP procedures related to interactions with guests. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities Provide a secure and positive first impression of Walton Arts Center/Walmart AMP by offering superior, individualized service. Monitor entry and exit points to specific areas of Walton Arts Center, including screening of guests' bags prior to entering the venue. Provide Walton Arts Center/Walmart AMP Guests accurate event and facility information. Enforce facility policies (i.e., no smoking, no re-entry) and procedures throughout the building. Respond to emergencies as necessary. Aid in direction of orderly evacuation of the building during emergencies. Deal with patron problems and complaints up to the level where intervention by a Security Supervisor is required. Minimum 1 year experience in a position where interacting with the public to provide services was a requirement of the job. Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols. Ability to remain calm and perform duties under pressure and time limits Reliable and punctual. Able to secure transportation to and from work when scheduled. Willing and able to interact with the organization through digital means via web page, smartphone apps or otherwise for the purposes of communicating schedule, shift notes and other necessary information with supervisor and colleagues. Preferred Qualifications We encourage applicants with a wide range of relevant experiences and skills to apply. Experience in emergency response, military service, or similar high-stress environments is valued, but not required. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly (internal radio devices) Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and be willing to use it for work purposes Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces. Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events Ability to work in a variety of environments, including but not limited to heights, elevators, darkened areas, around crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights.
