Position Summary
Under direct supervision from the Director of Safety & Security and/or the Security Manager, the Security Guard 2nd Shift provides general protection of facility property and personnel; monitors facility and protects against fire, damage and theft; provides general information and assistance to facility guests; and serves as the lead for all Base Security systems. In the absence of the Director of Safety & Security and/or Security Manager, the Security Guard may receive event-related instructions from Event Managers or general instructions from the Manager on Duty and/or the Assistant General Manager.
This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$19.00

About the Venue
The Greater Richmond Convention Center is the largest meeting and exhibition venue in the Commonwealth of Virginia. With 178,158 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, a 30,550 square-foot Grand Ballroom and 50,000 square feet of additional meeting/banquet space, the GRCC is well-positioned to host a variety of events from small meetings to large trade shows and conventions. Situated along the I-95 corridor, the GRCC lies within a 500 mile radius of one half of the U.S. population. The Richmond Region is an affordable market in Central Virginia with the Blue Ridge Mountains to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the south, Washington D.C. to the east and North Carolina to the west.
Responsibilities
Patrols facility; lock and unlock doors as required; guard property against fire, theft and damage.
Observe facilities and equipment for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazards. Complete incident report forms in accordance with department standards, including photos where appropriate, documenting damages.
Observe public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to the Security Base Operator.
Assist medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control and securing needed equipment.
Exchange all current facility information with base officer coming on duty.
Check Lutron system hourly for the status of all facility lights. Have operational knowledge of Lutron system, including the partitioning of meeting spaces as requested.
Maintain logs, Issues and receives equipment. Manage lost and found operation.
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
Be aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; Monitor the facility's Fire Alarm System and follow established procedures in case of fire, power outages, civil unrest or other emergencies. Review on an ongoing basis and be prepared to implement the policies and procedures in the Center's Emergency Preparedness Manual.
Ensure correct and orderly flow of event personnel from shift to shift; maintain open dialogue with all event supervisors; monitor and maintain event staff sign-in sheets in absence of Security Coordinator.
Sign all visitors in and out; issue and maintain outside vendor/visitor badges.
Maintain a comprehensive log of all pertinent facility information throughout entire work shift.
Monitor CCTV system throughout work shift and report any unusual activity to the Director of Safety & Security, Security Coordinator and Roving Security Guard.
Activate and disseminate pertinent information through the Center's emergency Public Address system.
Provide general information, directions and assistance to facility clients and guests.
Perform regular inspection of CCTV, Access Card Reader, and fire/life safety equipment.
Maintain the Security Base office in a clean, presentable and professional appearance.
Informs and educates violators of policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Possession of or ability to obtain certification in Crowd Management Training.

Responsibilities
Know and understand the operations of the Ticketmaster ticketing system
Familiarize yourself with each event (ticket prices, discounts, restrictions, reserved or general admission seating, etc.)
Know and understand seating charts and configurations of the VSU MPC and Rogers Stadium
Perform transactions for all events on the ticketing system with efficiency and accuracy
Collect proper credit card amount for purchase of ticket(s) as well as give back proper number of tickets
Communicate and satisfy patrons with world class customer service
Operate phone and address call in patrons' requests for information
Maintain confidentiality
Additional duties may be assigned by Box Office Director or Box Office Supervisor
Qualifications
Ability to multitask in a fast‐paced environment
Familiarity with Windows based computers
Possess excellent customer service skills under high volumes
Experience working with the public
Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team
Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours
Must be able to work in a loud noise environments
Must be over 18 years or older
Strong verbal communication skills in the English language (Spanish is a plus)

Responsibilities
Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers and uniform standards.
Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.

Contact a management member if he/she is unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
Request additional product or restock product as required
Ability to handle cash accurately is required. Employee is responsible for issued bank at his/her bar.
Maintains clean and sanitary work station at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
Other duties as assigned such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler
Qualifications
Six months or more experience bartending.
Accurate cash handling skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in an operations or facility coordination position in an arena, convention center, or public assembly facility including event set up/breakdown, event coordination, or related field, and direct employee supervision.
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Strong leadership, organizational, and oral communication skills with ability to function in a multi-task environment are vital
Reliability is a must
Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays
Forklift and aerial lift certifications are preferred or must have ability to obtain

The VSU Multi-Purpose Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose venue located on the campus of Virginia State University, in South Chesterfield, VA. The arena is able to seat more than 6,000 guests, making it the largest events venue located south of Richmond in the state of Virginia. Responsibilities
Patrols facility; lock and unlock doors as required; guard property against fire, theft and damage.
Observe facilities and equipment for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazards. Complete incident report forms in accordance with department standards, including photos where appropriate, documenting damages.
Observe public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to the Security Base Operator.
Assist medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control and securing needed equipment.
Exchange all current facility information with base officer coming on duty.
Check Lutron system hourly for the status of all facility lights. Have operational knowledge of Lutron system, including the partitioning of meeting spaces as requested.
Maintain logs, Issues and receives equipment. Manage lost and found operation.
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
Be aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; Monitor the facility's Fire Alarm System and follow established procedures in case of fire, power outages, civil unrest or other emergencies. Review on an ongoing basis and be prepared to implement the policies and procedures in the Center's Emergency Preparedness Manual.
Ensure correct and orderly flow of event personnel from shift to shift; maintain open dialogue with all event supervisors; monitor and maintain event staff sign-in sheets in absence of Security Coordinator.
Sign all visitors in and out; issue and maintain outside vendor/visitor badges.
Maintain a comprehensive log of all pertinent facility information throughout entire work shift.

Activate and disseminate pertinent information through the Center's emergency Public Address system.

Perform regular inspection of CCTV, Access Card Reader, and fire/life safety equipment.
Maintain the Security Base office in a clean, presentable and professional appearance.
Informs and educates violators of policies and procedures.
