Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, the Clinical Coordinator RN of the Skilled Nursing Unit fulfills the role of the Director of Nursing (DON). The Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, the Clinical Coordinator RN of the Skilled Nursing Unit fulfills the role of the Director of Nursing (DON). The Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing orientation, teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of personnel assigned to the area. The Clinical Coordinator, RN / DON supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital and according to state guidelines. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. BSN preferred. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse provides direction to professional and non-professional clinical personnel in providing direct patient care. The Registered Nurse provides high quality, skilled nursing services assisting all patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization. Responsibilities The Perioperative RN is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure. The Perioperative RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during various phases of the perioperative stay. The Perioperative RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of 1 year previous Perioperative RN experience preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. ACLS within 6 months of employment. The staff nurse provides direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. The staff nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited nursing program. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE One year acute care clinical nursing experience OR equivalent EMT/Paramedic experience required. Experience in critical care preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support (or ENPC) required within 6 months of employment. TNCC within 18 months of employment. Employees must remain current in these certifications.
