**Your Impact**
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Distribution Design.
+ Work under the supervision of experienced engineers on utility distribution design projects
+ Assist senior engineers and designers with engineering consulting services for distribution design

+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering,or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
+ Must be 18 or older.
+ Demonstrated interest in consulting engineering, electric utility industry, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

As part of our SUE team, you will gain hands-on experience over a 10-12 week period, supporting office production and field activities related to geophysical prospecting and underground utility mapping. Principal Responsibilities
* Support design tasks for SUE-related systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
* Research commercially available equipment and resources.
* Assist with client relations, project documentation, and maintaining permanent record files.
* Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, and equipment supplier teams.
* Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while tracking project progress.
* Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final checks.
* Prepare and issue addendum information as needed.
* Conduct periodic job site observations and fulfill contract-required services.
* Learn and assist with SUE location duties, including geophysical prospecting and underground utility layout designation.
* Gain exposure to routine computations for various project types.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
* Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
* Work to gain knowledge of SUE operations, principles, practices and marking techniques
* May be required to assist with field duties like surveying and materials testing
* Strong interest in design consulting
* Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and Building Information Model
