Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to join the Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) as a Waterborne Security Boat Instructor at Learning Site Little Creek, located in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a high-risk instructor role, involving both classroom and operational training. Travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-risk, group-paced instruction on security boat tactics, techniques, and procedures in both classroom and underway training environments
Utilize Safety/Operational Risk Management, Classroom Teaching Fundamentals, Training Requirements and Training Plans, and Training Scenario Scripting
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Navy Instructor (9502) certification or equivalent
Certified coxswain
At least three (3) years of documented operational security boat driving experience in one or more of the following:

U.S. Navy Coastal Riverine Forces (CRF) Detachment
U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC)
USCG Shore-Based Boat Unit or Maritime Patrol Forces operating Fast Response Cutters (FRC), Patrol Boats (WPB), or Coastal Patrol Boats (CPB)
USCG Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF) such as MSRT, MSST, or PSU
Skills and Expertise:
Tactical and Leadership Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a maritime environment with a strong background in tactical operations, boat maintenance, and Navy Force Protection boats
Coxswain Skills: Experience with launch and recovery, open water and confined space maneuvering, high-speed tactical maneuvers, towing, and VBSS operations
Maritime Navigation Proficiency: Skilled in maritime navigation, including knowledge of aids to navigation, rules of the road, and plotting on nautical charts, with the ability to navigate at night
Small Boat Tactical Operations: Proficient in team organization, multi-craft formations, patrols, MIO support, live fire operations, and escort missions, with experience in risk assessments using the ORM process
Craft Systems and Sub-Systems: Expertise in electronic navigation systems, communication equipment, and operation and maintenance of water jet and propeller-driven craft
Additional Requirements:
Experience in logistical movement and transportation of small craft and associated gear for over-the-road and hoisting operations
Tactical operations planning experience using military decision-making processes, including mission coordination, concept of operations, and mission debriefing
Ability to qualify as a Second-Class Swimmer per NETC P1552/16 standards, with normal color vision (FALANT color vision test and no night blindness)
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Job Summary: The Air Ops Instructor will augment active-duty instructors in the EODTEU2 Air Ops Division facilitating advanced level, high-risk accelerated free-fall (AFF) and static line (S/L) training for EOD platoons during Unit Level training (ULT) to support O-FRP Basic Phase. This training consists of classroom and field training including full mission profiles (FMP) in the local training area as well as Eloy, AZ and Ft Pickett, VA. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide high-risk air operations instruction.
Safely prepare, train, and execute AFF procedures and operations to include military High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) and High-Altitude Low Opening procedures, and perform MFF and HAHO insertions in a training environment.
Conduct ORM to mitigate hazards inherent to EOD Air Operations training and fully comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and regulations.
Perform scheduled, un-scheduled and authorized repair maintenance on military freefall, static line parachute systems in the EOD inventory.
Perform technical rigger inspections and repacks of MT-2XX parachute systems in accordance with applicable manuals.
Perform technical rigger inspections and repacks on MT-2XX, Enhanced Military Javelin (MT-3), Maritime Military Javelin (MT-4), Army Ram Air (RA-1), NON-Tactical parachute Systems, MC-6 and T-11Rs, in accordance with applicable manuals.
Maintain currency in administrative duties and technical expertise.
Assist in the maintenance and inventory of divisional Table of Allowance items, CESE/SABAR, and issued equipment.
Personal Property database maintenance Data entry of personal property assets, assist with archiving asset records, identify and correct discrepancies in the database.
Conduct inventory management of command Personal Property assets to include processing receipts of incoming material, schedule and perform personal property inventories.
Assist in policy enforcement related to personal property management program.
Ensure correct processing and forwarding of receipt, transfer, and disposition of supporting documents. Prepare documents as needed.
Manage parachute parts storeroom and warehouse and inventory management experience in the DoD.
Maintain access and complete required training to manage inventories within the command Accountability Property System Record through programs such as DPAS.
Ensure ordering of parachute parts to ensure no loss in readiness. Develop phase replacement plans.
Recommend material solutions to EOD Air Ops shortfalls
Provide expert advice to Unit, Group and Type Commanders on all aspects of EOD Air Operations.
Maintain currency in technical expertise and training techniques.
Assist in the maintenance and inventory of divisional Table of Allowance items, CESE/SABAR, and issued equipment.
Participate in the training and instructing of EOD operators in the Air Ops area of expertise.
Participate in Field Training Exercises as needed.
Observe, evaluate, and document training exercises.

Participate in the development, delivery, and maintenance of divisional curriculum.
Assist in divisional purchase request.
Prepare correspondence and maintain files of correspondence, forms, regulations, directives, letters, and other publications as required. Ensure publications, instructions, directives, and files are accurately updated and correspondence is accurately filed and processed in accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual SECNAVINST 5216.SD and SSIC Manual SECNAVINST 5430.7P.
Prepare reports as required to document the evaluation of training.
Support night operations.
Fulfill DZSO roles and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Military Free Fall (MFF) Jump Master
Static Line (S/L) Jump Master
Parachute Rigger
At least 500 successful, documented jumps
Honorable Discharge from Active-Duty Military Service.
Secret Clearance
Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

The Explosives Countermeasures Instructor will serve as an instructor for explosives and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) recognition and avoidance techniques with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting and/or managing the presentation of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met. The incumbent will also serve as a Diplomatic Security Training Center subject matter expert on explosives and IED recognition. The position is based at the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, VA.
Essential Functions
Plans, organizes and manages the presentation of explosives countermeasures training courses;
Reviews established training objectives, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods prior to the beginning of assigned courses;
Researches and reviews current reports related to Diplomatic Security and introduces applicable information into EC courses;
Approves shipments of special equipment and materials, and other related activities;
Complies with all Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards;
Resolves complex problems that occur in the preparation for and during training;
Evaluates training effectiveness to ensure that training objectives have been met;
Reviews and analyzes trainee evaluations, feedback from other instructors, and personal observations;
Identifies need for and drafts revisions to course content and materials or instructional methods as necessary to improve the explosives countermeasures training curriculum effectiveness and quality;
Evaluates the impact of planned or projected changes in DS security programs and associated training requirements on the existing content, materials, and methods used for explosives countermeasures training;
Provides budget estimates for assigned courses;

Assists instructors in other security related subjects;

The Firearms Instructor/Senior Range Safety Officer will serve as a range safety officer and course administrator for firearms training courses with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting and/or managing the presentation of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met. The incumbent will also serve as a Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) subject matter expert on firearms. The position is based in Blackstone, VA.
Essential Functions
Operates the Diplomatic Security (DS) range facility and judgmental use of force facility ensuring compliance with OSHA and/or EPA standards and regulations.
Plans, organizes, and instructs/manages the presentation of firearms training courses, which may include basic and advanced firearms and use of deadly force.
Conducts firearms and deadly force scenario-based training; provides appropriate after-action reviews and feedback to trainees.
Applies U.S. Constitutional law, relevant case law, and DS policies to firearms training and use of force scenarios.
