Occidental College Leadership

James joined the Oxy community in September 2010 as Associate Vice President for ITS. He earned the title of Chief Technology Officer in 2012 and that of Chief Information Officer three years later. He has been a member of the senior leadership team since 2013. James has a BA in political science and philosophy from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s in political science from The New School for Social Research, and an MBA in information systems and international business from Pace University.

Amos and his team generate financial strategies, oversee finance and budget management, develop institutional policies, and improve operational functions to meet the College's goals and objectives. He is responsible for the Business Office, Budget and Institutional Planning, Facilities Management, Hospitality Services and Human Resources.

A native New Yorker, Amos came to Occidental in the fall of 2009 to lead the College's strategic planning efforts. Following the completion of the plan: 21st Century Liberal Arts: Urban & Global, he was promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

In his role as VP & COO, Amos is the administrative liaison to the College's Audit Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, Buildings & Grounds Committee, and Investment Committee. He also serves on many other College-wide committees and has served as a member of accreditation teams for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Northwestern Commission on Colleges and Universities. Other service activities include adviser to the student-managed investment Blyth Fund as well as the Women's and Men's Ultimate Clubs.

A graduate of CUNY's Baruch College in New York City, Amos earned his MBA in international business and management.

Dr. Carreon Bradley, a native Angeleno, received his BA in physics with a minor in gender & women’s studies from Grinnell College, and his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Nebraska; he is currently working on his Ed.D. in organizational change and leadership at USC. He spent his faculty career at Vassar College where he became the first tenured faculty member of color in the Physics & Astronomy Department. While at Vassar, Dr. Carreon Bradley began his diversity, equity, and inclusion administration work by serving as the senior diversity faculty-administrator, then moved into a vice president/CDO role at Smith College prior to returning to Los Angeles to take on his most recent role as the faculty diversity officer at California State University, Fullerton.
