Position: Physical Therapist
POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist functions under the direct supervision of the physical medicine supervisor. The staff therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. They also assume the responsibility and accountability of the care of their patients who are being treated by physical therapist assistants.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides patient care services of all ages from neonate to geriatric
Performs patient assessment
Establishes plan of care
Provides care in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care
Assesses educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs
Plans for discharge
Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit of care
Assesses the effectiveness of the treatment given and modifies treatment to achieve goals

Qualifications
Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:
Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Texas with a SCD or DPT
BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Ability to read, write and converse in English
Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
Ability to remain calm and composed under stress, including emergency response to patient incidents
Ability to respond to pages
Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions

We are currently seeking an exceptional Clinical Exercise Physiologist for our part time job opportunity near the Amarillo, Texas area.
Our Clinical Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for performing cardiopulmonary metabolic exercise testing (CPET) at various primary care physician offices and will become an integral part of the physician's team by providing important diagnostic information that is critical to patient care. They will work with state-of-the-art equipment and be responsible for transporting, setting up, and maintaining the equipment and supplies.
To perform this job successfully, you must meet the following requirements to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited university or college (Master's preferred).
Current ACLS Certification.
Demonstration of past clinical stress testing and pulmonary function testing experience within a healthcare provider or university setting under physician supervision.
Knowledge of oxygen consumption (VO2) as a cardiac/circulatory measure.
Ability to read and interpret 12-lead ECGs.
Knowledge of the benefits of gas exchange and Anaerobic Threshold (AT).
Knowledge of appropriate indications for exercise testing.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Demonstration of computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Access & Power Point, etc.) and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

Participates as a Skilled Professional Medical Personnel (SPMP) in the required “Random Moment in Time Studies” which helps the program secure additional federal funds in order to serve clients within mandated timelines.
Makes referrals to outside agencies and other professionals for further diagnosis of the children's needs when indicated.
Upholds the ethical standards applicable to licensure boards maintains all licensure requirements per state/federal rules.
Engages in continuing efforts to improve professional and personal competency through individual study, training programs, workshops, and seminars and enter into ESC Professional Development Record.
Participates in public awareness and child find activities that promote quality referrals from appropriate referral sources.
Maintains in-service training requirements for professional growth and development and other program records such as inventory of equipment and materials. Is responsible for distribution of borrowed equipment and technology.
Checks and responds to emails and voice mails within 48 hours during regular workdays.
Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly.
