OCCUPATIONALTHERAPIST Hourly Rate: $68- $85 an hour DOE Behavior Frontiers is looking for a Part-Time OccupationalTherapist (OT) to join our team to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities or delays in home and community settings. We have an amazing opportunity in which the OT will assess the needs of the children and provide recommendations to the team, including the family.
Our Infant Development Program utilizes a trans-disciplinary model, which involves a team approach between the consumer, family, and professionals from multiple disciplines, specifically Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy. Our program is designed to be individualized based on the specific needs of the consumer and the goal is to increase adaptive skills, decrease problem behaviors, and develop positive relationship between parent and child, thus increasing the whole family's quality of life!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Consult with each consumer as determined by the payor (e.g., regional center) ranging from one time per week to one time every 6 months.
Conduct occupational therapy assessments (e.g., Peabody)
Observe and assess each consumer's skill level and areas of need
Collaborate with child development specialists, early intervention supervisors, speech and language pathologists, family, and other professionals
Provide recommendations for individualized occupational therapy programming and answer questions related to program
Participate in co-visits and provide training to child development specialists, early intervention supervisors, and family members in the recommended interventions
Model interventions and provide input on the intervention plan
Update and modify occupational therapy program
Attend team meetings and/or IFSP meetings
Write brief summaries of consultation visits
Evaluate and track consumer progress toward goals and objectives
Write OT assessment and re-assessment reports
Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Valid state license as an OccupationalTherapist
Master's Degree
2 years' experience designing, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy services
2 years' experience working with infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities or delays in home/community settings
Demonstrated excellence with written assessments and treatment plans
Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with a team
Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check with no criminal record
Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
Bilingual speaking (e.g., Spanish, Vietnamese) a plus

The employee however, will be expected to work no more than five days per week. Many of the responsibilities require that you have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn the proper use of the programs utilized in this office, or those that which may be necessary to meet the needs of the practice. The hours, pay scale, and benefits will be defined as shall be agreed to. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, the OccupationalTherapist shall provide all responsibilities necessary for the successful operation of the Physical Therapy Department for Arrowhead Orthopaedics. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work is primarily performed in the Physical Therapy Department located within one of Arrowhead Orthopaedics offices. There will be contact on a daily basis with confidential files pertaining to patients' care, and the OccupationalTherapist must be able to handle this information with the highest degree of privacy, discretion, and professionalism. The OccupationalTherapist is responsible for accomplishing the duties set forth below: General Activities (There may be other duties required of this position not listed below):
Identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives.
Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories.
Assesses abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
Documents patient care services in electronic medical record system.
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Essential Functions:
Attend to the therapy needs of patients as scheduled.
Perform 2-3 procedures and 1-2 modalities per patient whenever called for and if possible. Lower levels of performance could result in an increased patient load.
Complete all PT/OT evaluations and daily notes within 2 working days.
Complete EEFs, and DASH, and cosign's within 2 working days.
Complete Discharge (DC) list monthly
Maintain full compliance with CMS-Medicare regulations, and other regulations of third party payors.
Maintain complete documentation of services rendered, and communicate periodically with the billing staff to ensure the proper and timely billing of all services rendered.
RELATIONSHIPS: The OccupationalTherapist should observe and conduct the following relationships:
The employee shall be responsible directly to the Director of Physical Therapy. The employee shall report to the Director of Physical Therapy and his/her assignees any progress, reports, requests, concerns, problems, and/or expectations in relation to the responsibilities of the position. Such communication may be verbal or written as deemed necessary by the employee or as directed by the Director of Physical Therapy or his/her assignee.
The employee shall interact with other office and clinical staff in the Practice. Such interactions should be collegial, professional, and contributing to the safety and pleasantness of the work environment at Arrowhead Orthopaedics.
The employee shall interact with Doctors, licensed physical therapists, students conducting internships, physical therapy aids, and patients. Such communication should always reflect the total commitment of the office to quality care and customer satisfaction.

Consistently demonstrates the facility's interdisciplinary approach to patient care. This includes but is not limited to:
Integrating findings of other members of the interdisciplinary team in treatment assessment and recommendations.
Integrating input from patient and family in treatment assessment and recommendations.
