Key Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on, active rehabilitation for patients with TBI, post-concussive symptoms, and neurologic functional impairments.
Perform comprehensive assessments addressing balance, vestibular function, cervical biomechanics, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and functional mobility.
Provide vestibular therapy including gaze stabilization, habituation exercises, balance training, and canalith repositioning techniques when indicated.
Implement individualized treatment plans incorporating physical therapy, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and occupation-based strategies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers including neurologists, occupationaltherapists, neuropsychologists, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure cohesive patient care.

JOB SUMMARY: Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest, which have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. A PT meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results and determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription. They also help patients complete their treatment plan by administering exercises, instructing in form and technique, encouraging progression, and training patients in performing physical activities-such as job or daily activity-related functions. PTs occasionally teach the proper use of assistive and supportive devices as well, including crutches, canes, braces, home modality units, and prostheses. PTs must have exceptional interpersonal and reasoning skills, and strive to be positive examples of health and wellness for their patients. PTs are expected to keep abreast of best-practice and utilize research evidence to make clinical decisions in conjunction with patient preferences and clinical experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Examines, assesses, and implements plans of care including elements of exercise prescription, advice and education, health and wellness promotion, manual therapy, and other biopsychosocial physical agents.
2. Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments using written scales, examination procedures, and patient interviews.
3. Modifies plans of care depending on daily progression, regression, and constant data gathering. Also helps direct and inform the care of patients by physical therapist assistants as deemed appropriate.

5. Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; and recommending and/or providing assistive equipment.

Job Summary:
The OccupationalTherapist (OT) evaluates patient's cognitive, perceptual, & motor assets and liabilities for functional performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and coordinate patient evaluations and treatments based upon age-specific needs.
Evaluates/considers whole patient- incorporating data from the medical record and assessing the patient's functional status, physical disability, movement dysfunction and pain, community mobility, and rehabilitation potential.
Correlate data from the evaluation to determine individualized plan of care, directed toward short- and long-term goals.
Follow all established policies and procedures for documentation and form completion.
Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and work as a team player for continuity of care.
Administer treatment requiring the advanced skills and knowledge of a specialist, focusing on posture, locomotion, strength, endurance, cardiopulmonary function, coordination, joint mobility, flexibility, pain, healing and repair.
Determine appropriateness of patient's response to treatment and consult with primary therapist concerning modifications in plan of care
Analyze tasks and adapt the environment, tools, materials, treatments to the needs of patient and their sociocultural context.
Use supplies in a cost-efficient way and perform the appropriate charge capture procedure.
Design individualized home programs and educate patients, family and ancillary personnel in specific procedure, equipment utilization and home programs
Schedule patients for treatments according to volume of patient load and demand, including coordinating patient's schedule with other services and non-direct care tasks.
Delegate patient treatment to support personnel according to their expertise/experience, maintaining the responsibility for the patient and treatment programs at all times.
