Identifies those functional problems that require physical therapy intervention based on an accurate assessment of the patients status. Must be capable of understanding and carrying out prescribed therapy services as requested by physicians and/or midlevel providers. Develops a plan of care to promote optimum function and safety, as documented in the clinical record. Completes all required documentation following evaluation, treatment and procedures and ensures that documentation reflects care provided and outcomes achieved. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate and treat the assigned number of patients per day, and determine the need for follow up visits to maximize the functional outcomes Maintains current knowledge and awareness of insurance regulations related to provision of therapy services Acts fiscally responsible in use & request of supplies, and in submitting patient charges in a timely manner. Ability to handle and operate therapy equipment, including but not limited to: safe patient handling equipment, exercise machines, and/or modalities Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication Maintains and enhances personal and professional knowledge, as well as promotes professional standards in physical therapy Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
