Job Overview

1. Bachelors Degree.
2. Graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy.
3. Physical Therapy (PT) License. Licensure in NH may be required depending on assigned territory and operational need.
4. One (1) year of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Advanced Degree (Masters or Doctorate).
2. Two (2) years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities: The OccupationalTherapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in an independent living facility. Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the OccupationalTherapist to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment which is the patient's home. The OccupationalTherapist organizes and conducts occupational therapy programs for the agency to facilitate rehabilitation. In addition, they direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. The OccupationalTherapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings.
1. As necessary or applicable, supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.2. Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.3. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other related meetings.4. Makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.5. Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team, including the community physician, to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.6. We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our team, and help expand our pediatric pelvic floor program. Be a part of our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality, outpatient rehabilitation for our pediatric patients. In this position, you will work in the outpatient department treating clients of all genders with Pelvic Health issues including pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain and incontinence, as well as developmental, orthopedic and neurological conditions as needed. Primary location will be at our Waltham, with initial training at the Boston location. This position will include regular Saturday coverage after completion of orientation period.
Key Responsibilities:
Completing comprehensive physical therapy assessment in alignment with department standards and guidelines for pediatric patients.
Performing pelvic floor muscle assessment and treatment for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. Must establish plan of care to achieve established goals relative to age, medical history and dysfunction.
Working closely with a team of providers to provide integrated care and follow-up.
Demonstrating professional competence and clinical reasoning in assessing patient's condition at the onset and through all phases of skilled physical therapy.
Performing diagnostic evaluations upon referral by physician. Verifying appropriateness of referral, contacting physician as necessary.
Developing and implementing individualized patient treatment programs. Establishing treatment goals, and prescribing and administering appropriate physical therapy procedures.
Preparing discharge plans and home treatment programs and providing instruction and education to patients and families. Monitoring treatment outcomes, modifying program as needed and communicating recommendations to physicians and other providers.
Recording assessments, diagnoses and treatment in patient medical record according to established documentation standards. Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals and other materials for schools, providers, payors, and others as needed. Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.
Contributing to teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
Experience:
3 years minimum pediatric PT experience required.
Adult or Pediatric Pelvic floor experience preferred. Additional training and mentorship will be provided
APTA CAPP-Pelvic certification or equivalent advanced training/certification for pelvic floor PT is desired, but not required to be hired. Please NOTE- BCH will pay for CAPP-Pelvic certification, if hired.
Excellent Analytical and Communication skills.
Licensure/Certifications:
Physical Therapist license in the state of MA.
