Position Summary:
The OccupationalTherapist evaluates, establishes treatment plans, and administers a medically prescribed occupational therapy program in accordance with professional guidelines as described by the American Occupational Therapy Association. What You'll Do:
Perform comprehensive upper extremity evaluations, including: Hand, wrist, elbow, which may include shoulder assessments, Strength, range of motion, edema, sensation, dexterity, pain, and functional mobility testing.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to diagnosis, surgical procedures, and functional needs.
Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions and adjust plans based on patient progress
Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive equipment, and functional strategies
Custom Splinting & Orthotic Management
Fabricate custom orthoses for post-surgical protection, immobilization, mobilization, and functional support.
Fit, adjust, and repair custom or prefabricated splints.
Provide patient instruction regarding wear schedule, precautions, and hygiene.
Document evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policy
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and payors to coordinate care
Participate in mentoring, student instruction, and professional development opportunities
Support departmental operations, productivity standards, and quality improvement initiatives
