Job Summary: The Healthcare Access Supervisor supports the day-to-day operations of the Healthcare Access Department, including hospital registration, clinic reception, insurance verification, and patient intake workflows across Ocean Beach Health locations. This position provides frontline leadership, staff support, and workflow oversight to ensure consistent service standards, accurate patient information, and an efficient, patient-centered experience. The Supervisor regularly travels to clinic sites to provide onsite coaching, ensure aligned processes, and support staff needs. This role works closely with the Healthcare Access Manager to implement departmental goals, maintain quality standards, and ensure smooth clinic operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Support & Daily Operations
Provide daily oversight of front-desk and registration workflows to maintain smooth patient flow and consistent standards across all OBH locations.
Monitor staffing levels, daily assignments, and break coverage; communicate changes or concerns promptly to the Healthcare Access Manager.
Serve as an onsite resource at clinic locations on a rotating or scheduled basis, offering support, training, and problem solving.
Assist with escalated patient issues, service complaints, and workflow barriers, ensuring timely resolution.
Perform registration and reception duties as needed to support coverage.
Staff Coaching & Development
Provide onboarding, hands-on training, and workflow reinforcement for new and existing staff.
Offer routine coaching and informal feedback; elevate performance or behavioral concerns to the Manager.
Support competency checks and skill development initiatives.
Promote a positive, team-oriented front-desk culture.
Workflow, Quality, & Compliance
Ensure staff follow established policies, procedures, and standardized workflows for registration, insurance verification, screening, and phone protocols.
Monitor accuracy of patient demographic and insurance data; reinforce quality expectations.
Assist the Manager in identifying areas for process improvement and implementing updated practices.
Encourage adherence to state, federal, and payer requirements in collaboration with the Healthcare Access Manager.
Communication & Collaboration
Serve as a communication link between staff and the Healthcare Access Manager, ensuring concerns, suggestions, and operational updates are shared promptly.
Collaborate with clinic leadership, providers, ancillary departments, and revenue cycle teams to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Promote consistent messaging, expectations, and workflows across all clinic reception areas.
Administrative Support
Assist in reviewing timecards for accuracy and ensuring staff signoffs are completed timely.
Help coordinate schedules, shift changes, and coverage adjustments, escalating complex needs to the Manager.
Support reporting, audits, and data collection as requested.
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and performance improvement activities.
Other Duties
Travel regularly between OBH clinics to provide in-person support, training, and workflow reinforcement.

Job Summary:
Two positions available:
Night shift position: 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
Evening position: 10 hours per day, Friday to Monday
Assists the radiologist(s) and primary practitioners by obtaining the best possible radiographs for interpretation according to departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Is responsible to the Ancillary Services Manager and assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
Performance Responsibilities:
Positions patients for appropriate views.
Provides immobilization devices as required.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Selects and operates equipment as necessary for an exam or as directed.
Processes digital images.
Provides both radiation and safety protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards for patients and employees.
Assists the physician in administering opaque and contrast media, and necessary medicines as ordered by the radiologist.
May be responsible for specific areas of instruction for ancillary personnel.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
May assist the primary physician in the administration of ionizing radiation in the radiographic room during special procedures.
Transports patients from the floor to the department and on and off the appropriate exam area/table.
Assists as necessary in surgical procedures by taking portable x-rays in the surgical suite.
Selects and uses appropriate technical factors for taking portable radiographs.
Works as an individual and as team member depending on department staffing.
Takes assigned call periods for imaging services in the modalities in which they are trained, certified, licensed, or likewise eligible, such as, radiograph, CT, or ultrasound, as required by department needs.
Prepares patient for and assists in Radiology/Ultrasound/Mammography/CT procedures.
Correctly and consistently processes patient paperwork, as delineated in patient processing protocol.
Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities
Maintains adequate records within the department as directed.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.
Secures and returns supplies.
Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.
Rotates within the department or other departments and by shifts or days of the week as directed, including vacation and sick relief fill-in.
Pulling and refilling patient cards, reports, and films.
Operates shift with cost consciousness to avoid over usage or unnecessary waste of materials and/or staff.
Pursues continuing education techniques and protocols of various radiographic exams, such as but not limited to attendance at outside continuing education seminars with administrative approval.
Employees are required to complete all training on time.

Performance Responsibilities:

Lubricate and service equipment on PM schedule.
Weekly and monthly check on the emergency generator and switching system (i.e., demand starts and full load generator runs).

Job Summary:
The Ancillary Services Manager holds a critical operational role in terms of the Laboratory and Radiology Department performance, meeting state and federal regulatory compliance, HIPAA compliance, and guest relations. The person in this position works in close partnership with many aspects of the organization and is central to creating a seamless experience for our patients.
The Ancillary Services Manager is responsible for directing the Laboratory and Radiology Department activities and technical staff and monitors the technical and operational status of the Departments. The manager ensures that the proper Quality Control and Quality Assurance guidelines are followed to ensure accurate and timely patient care, and the highest quality service achievable. Competency in personnel management, inter-departmental relationships, budgeting, and fiscal management, and evaluation of tests and instrumentation is required. The manager is responsible for the development, interpretation, and application of departmental policies, procedures, budgets, billing practices, and long-range plans.
The manager must be proficient in all areas of testing offered by the Laboratory Department. This position requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide direct patient care appropriate to the patient population served. Monitors and maintains the chargemaster in the department to ensure legally optimal reimbursement. Prepares inspection reports. Reviews and provides corrective action for all proficiency testing and assures competency in proficiency testing.
The duties of the Ancillary Services Manager include but are not limited to; providing leadership, support, problem resolution, and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory and Radiology Departments. Supervision of staff and workflow which aligns with the hospital's policies and procedures is expected. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, developing, disciplining, engaging, and evaluating employees. The Ancillary Services Manager is expected to continue work toward the improvement of Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics' operations and holding the team to the same standard.
Education/Experience/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological sciences required.
ASCP or AMT certification for Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist and five years of clinical experience required.
Medical Assistant Phlebotomy License through the Washington State Department of Health.
2+ years of Leadership experience, managing, planning, and executing activities including project management, establishing performance metrics, and employee engagement.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including communication, facilitation, and effective meeting management, agenda development, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Summary: The Registered Dietitian provides evidence-based, patient-centered medical nutrition therapy across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient hospital services. Monitors, evaluates, recommends, and prescribes patient diet orders.
Interdepartmental Team
Consults with Food Service Supervisor (FSS) to ensure the Dietary Department meets all federal, state, and local health regulations.
Consult with Dietary staff, Nurse Managers, and Providers to implement use of the OBHMC Diet Manual.
Provides expertise on the content of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
Consults with the FSS to develop a cycle menu for three seasons, including general and modified diets. Assists in periodically evaluating and altering these menus as needed.
Provides input on recipes suitable for the abilities and limitations of the dietary staff and equipment. Assists the FSS in the modification of recipes for special diets, adjustment of recipe yields, and desired portion sizes.
Assists the FSS as requested with evaluating staffing adequacy position descriptions, daily duty lists, and work schedules.
Assists with observing food preparation and service to ensure quality food is produced, trays are attractive, food looks appetizing, and proper temperatures are maintained. Tastes the meal to determine palatability. Makes recommendations to the FSS for improvement on a continual basis.
May suggest cost control and record-keeping procedures to FSS and contribute to developing appropriate forms when the need arises. Collaborates with the FSS to file yearly menu plans.
When requested, advises the FSS in ordering food and supplies, provide information on new products and where they may be procured.
Supports the FSS in conducting in-service training sessions as needed for Dietary Staff, utilizing visual aids when possible.

Job Summary:
The Lab Assistant draws blood from patients for analysis or transfusion. Following blood collection, phlebotomists clearly label and document the specimens. Blood collection and record-keeping are crucial. The Lab Assistant will deal with patients, staff, and providers in a courteous and respectful manner on a daily basis.
Assists the Laboratory staff by preparing appropriate paperwork for completion of laboratory tests; answers telephones; filing patient orders, faxing results, entering orders into our EMR, and may assist with patient preparation according to departmental policies and procedures. Laboratory assistance may perform waived testing after proving competency. Performs all other assigned tasks as required.
Performance Responsibilities:
Maintain confidentiality. Has frequent access to patient records, therefore, is expected to maintain full confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
Correctly and consistently processes patient paperwork/orders/results.
Runs Medical Necessity Verification and accurately compute ABN's as needed.
Demonstrates proficiency in performing phlebotomy and ECGs.

About the Role

Perform the preventative maintenance duties, followed up with documentation on the systems:
HVAC System - including daily/weekly checks per system. Submit PM worksheets to the Manager when scheduled.
Lubricate and service equipment on PM schedule.
Weekly and monthly check on the emergency generator and switching system (i.e., demand starts and full load generator runs).
Keeps hospital and clinic grounds in good appearance, using a mower and grounds care equipment>
Daily checks on Vacuum and O2 system and other hospital gases and change out/supply stock when necessary.
Assist in safety, life and safety support checks, and quality assurance activities, attend such meetings if necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep on hospital vehicles.
Have a working knowledge of policies and procedures in the Maintenance Department.
Keeps current on fire and safety regulations as required by law.
Perform on-call maintenance duties in a rotating schedule with other department employees.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance work on hospital equipment not covered by service contracts. Assist in work performed by such agencies and companies when necessary.
Perform courier duties/services for medical/sample runs to various locations (hospital, etc).
Maintain an organized bio-waste shed, including rotating empty/full bins to the lab. Have bio-waste bins ready for pickup on Stericycle schedule.
Organize and set up meeting rooms for various situations.
Organize and maintain record/file storage areas. Rotate old files to "recall" storage and assist in the shredding program.
Participate in the security and Patient assist teams when requested.
Employees are required to complete all training on time.
Contributes to a culture of Patient-Centered Care.
Contributes to a safe work environment.
Demonstrates commitment to the team and serves as a mentor to co-workers.
