Performs the daily balance of cash drawer as necessary. * Completes cash register transactions as well as guest carry-out service consisting of merchandise weighing up to but not exceeding 50 pounds per trip. * Maintain honesty and integrity in the work area. * Move merchandise up to 50 pounds. * Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Supervisory Responsibility: None Work Environment: The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although customer carryouts and veterinarian visits will require that an employee leave the store briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from not following procedures. The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) is seeking multiple permanent part-time and temporary Lifeguards for the Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center to work shifts as primary guards in the facility and monitor two bodies of water, including a 50-meter pool and a leisure pool with a water slide and other play features. Lifeguards will work on deck or in lifeguard chairs and serve as the primary protection against water related injuries. Specific duties include: * Monitoring water treatment and filtration equipment, managing swimming pool supplies and equipment, and performing minor pool maintenance; * Overseeing the collection of entry fees and pass sales; * Ensuring the safety of all patrons and the safe operation of the facility; * Ensuring compliance with County policies and procedures and Health and safety standards; and * Performing other job-related duties as assigned. Selection Criteria Minimum: This position may be filled at the full performance or trainee level depending upon applicant qualifications. Trainee Level: * Some experience performing lifeguard duties; and * Obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification within 90 days of hire. Full Performance Level: * Some experience performing lifeguard duties; and * Possession of American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at time of hire.
