Position Purpose :

This position provides general administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources & Employee Development by conducting a wide variety of complex duties requiring a high degree of accuracy. Essential Functions :

  • Provides clerical assistance to Human Resources department.

  • Responds to personnel and payroll inquiries from employees.
  • Maintains and administers all HR policies and procedures for all company personnel. Assists in implementation of personnel policies and procedures including but not limited to employee handbook.
  • Keys accurately all payroll related data to process and meet payroll deadlines. Processes scheduled payroll, reconciles payroll bank account monthly as needed.
  • Assists in processing all necessary personnel action items for new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and salary changes.
  • Compiles and prepares reports and spreadsheets as requested using applicable HRIS system data.
  • Assists in the administration of benefits programs and implements benefit programs effectively in compliance with federal and state laws and consistently in accordance with plan documents.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile benefits records and billing statements.
  • Assists in the management of the retirement plan, including enrollment, rollovers, and terminations.
  • Performs background checks, references, and assists with interviews for candidates.
  • Conducts orientation for new hires; provides training to management and staff on an annual basis on the various HR Laws, and UHFCU policies and procedures.
  • Organize, maintain, and audit HR records such as personnel files (current and termination), I-9 files, leave records, employee training records, etc. for completeness and accuracy.

Scope of Service

The Same Day Surgery/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (SDS/PACU) RN provides care for patients Pre-operatively and Post-operatively. Procedure types include: Endoscopy, ENT, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedic, General, Obstetrics, and Ophthalmology.

Pre-operatively - patients are fully assessed for all physical, emotional, spiritual, and family needs prior to surgery. There is a complete medication reconciliation, which will include all over the counter, herbal supplements, as well as all prescription medications. A complete physical evaluation is completed by the Anesthesia Provider, and RNs in this area will assist with any necessary preoperative sedation of anesthesia needs. The RN will also complete a physical assessment as well and complete set of vital sings, insert a peripheral IV, and medicate as per orders.

Activities vital to the care of post-anesthesia and post-operative patients include: monitoring vital signs, managing postoperative pain, monitoring the surgical site, treating symptoms of postoperative nausea and vomiting, treating post-anesthetic shivering and airway management. PACU RNs often coordinate the delivery of care for post-anesthesia patients following surgical procedures so the safety, physical, psychological and educational needs of the patients and family members are met.

PACU provides extended recovery care for up to 6 hours to patients requiring closer observation. Anesthesia can include general, regional or local anesthesia. The immediate post anesthesia period includes patients who have surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures

The SDS area is a 5 bay unit and the PACU is a 5 bay unit directly adjacent to the Main Operating Room. PACU staff are on-call Monday - Friday after the last case has completed recovery until 7am the following morning and Saturday & Sunday 7:00 am to 7:00 am (24 hr. periods at a time) and on major holidays.


Scope of Service

Operating Room (OR) - Cases scheduled 0645 to 1730 Monday through Friday which consists of 5 operating rooms. Services are provided to patients of all ages, 1 year of age to adult requiring major or minor surgical specialty services - Cardiovascular, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology. Obstetrics/Gynecologic, Otolaryngology, General, And Trauma surgery.


Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Has 24-hour oversight and accountability for nursing unit(s) and assigned area(s), including administrative, clinical and operational management, consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.
• Develops, establishes, and monitors plans and activities to ensure:
o Delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
o Effective planning and coordination of resources.
o Compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
o Achievement of goals and objectives.
• Participates in the long-term planning of assigned unit(s) and area(s).

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current BLS/HCP certification. Additional certification(s) may be required based on area of assignment i.e., TNCC, ACLS, NRP, Fetal monitoring.

B. EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum three (3) years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
• One (1) year as a charge nurse, clinical lead or other supervisory experience.

• Prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances depending upon area of assignment.

B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years nursing experience or successful completion of an APRN Fellowship Program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience working as an APRN preferred.

    Position Purpose :

    This high member contact position assists members by processing their transactions in an accurate and timely manner and complies with regulatory recordkeeping. Actively sells and cross-sells credit union products and services within the guidelines of the established production programs and furnishes account statuses.

    Essential Functions :

    • Accurately and efficiently processes transactions.
    • Accurately and efficiently performs service requests.
    • Completes and files regulatory reports as required.
    • Responsible for accurate handling and maintaining of all cash/negotiable instruments and end-of-day balancing.
    • Processes check deposits through Check 21 solution.
    • Cross-sells products and services to members.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Performance Standards :
    • Meet strategic objective for service level (NPS).
    • Accurately process requests.
    • Maintain efficient production levels to support branch.


    Qualifications :

    Education/Certification:

    High school diploma or GED is required.

    Required Knowledge:

    Basic understanding of MS Office Suite is desired.

    Experience Required:

    One to two years cash handling and/or customer service experience.

    Skills/Abilities:

    Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills and mathematical skills.

    Able to work in a fast-paced environment; especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions accurately or quickly.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Valid driver's license required with clean abstract and vehicle to drive to a branch when scheduled.
