Must have the ability to operate standard office equipment including typewriter, copy machine, tape recorders, projectors; establish and maintain accurate classroom records and files; establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist physically handicapped students in toileting needs including stall positioning, lifting garments and cleansing; assistinstructional personnel with mobility training activities; assist with instructing individuals and small groups of students in various learning situations including basic academic subjects, library activities and self-help social integration; implement learning situations which may include individualized instruction. Create learning centers and research instructional programs for the specific needs of assigned area; assist teacher in implementing curriculum for assigned area of instruction; assist in noting behavioral problems observed and disciplining when necessary; assist in organizing learning and instructional environments, setting up materials for daily activities, maintaining neat and orderly classroom/instructional areas; provide teachers and school administrators with relevant feedback and information on students' progress through observation and daily contact; administer and correct tests, daily assignments, homework; assist in establishing and maintaining informational and operational records and files; assist in developing goals and objectives for each student according to curriculum and program requirements, and in conjunction with certificated staff; takes daily attendance and assist in supervision of students during lunch hours and assemblies; confers with teachers regarding student's progress evaluation and problem areas; assist in the development of lesson plans; operate student language laboratory and related equipment; and perform related duties as required.
