Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Construction Skills: Performs a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, cement masonry, dry wall or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, or remodeling the cooperative headquarters buildings and facilities. Ability to use numerous carpenter hand tools, plumbing tools, electrical tools and all power tools is required.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers or their representatives.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Self Motivated: Can work independently of direct supervision and independently identify improvements for the exterior and interior of all Co-operative buildings
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to obtain Valid Michigan Driver's License and Class A CDL License within 6 months of being awarded the position.
