Odyssey Systems company history timeline

1997

In May 1997, Odyssey is founded in the Boston area by Michael Sweat and Michael Prisco to support the Air Force Electronic Systems Center (ESC).

Established in 1997, Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd. is a leading provider of management, analytical, and technical support services for government and private-sector customers.

Portlock transitioned to the private sector in 1997, joining Raytheon’s international air traffic control business and later held program management positions at Nortel Networks.

2000

In May 2000, Odyssey Opened a Hampton Roads office for delivering the Odyssey developed TACTICS training system used by Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs).

2001

Odyssey is named the 2001 Welch Award Winner for Rapid Integration of Fighter Data Link into F-15E variants for Afghanistan Deployment.

2002

He joined Odyssey in 2002.

2003

In October 2003, Odyssey opened a San Diego office supporting the Lockheed Martin integration of Tactical Data Links on Taiwan’s Fleet.

2004

In May 2004, Odyssey was selected by Boeing to develop Link-16 training for Japanese and Korean F-15 programs.

2007

From May-November 2007, Odyssey was awarded multiple Professional Acquisition Support Services (PASS) IDIQ task orders.

2008

In March-April 2008, Odyssey was awarded multiple Tinker Advisory & Assistance Services Contract (TAASC) task orders.

2009

In March 2009, Odyssey won an Inc.

2012

In December 2012, Odyssey began providing top engineering support for MIT Lincoln Labs in order to solve some of the country’s most demanding technical challenges.

2014

Emond joined Odyssey in 2014 after a successful career as a CFO, CIO, CTO and COO at various public and private companies.

2015

From June through October 2015, Odyssey was awarded six task orders under the Professional Acquisition Support Services (PASS II) contract.

Doug led the investment team in purchasing Odyssey in 2015.

2016

Continuing upon efforts which were first awarded in 2016, Odyssey will provide acquisition and compliance services with expertise in military…

2017

March 2017, Odyssey wins contract to support the Army’s Walter Reed Hospital with brain trauma research.

2019

In April 2019, Odyssey was recertified as Small Business for GSA OASIS Pools 4, 5B, and 6.

Tom Portlock assumed Odyssey’s CEO role in June 2019.

Matt Kasberg was named Odyssey’s COO in June 2019.
