Duties
During the course of their careers, Secret Service Police carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions. The Secret Service has determined that age is essential to the performance of this position.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay: $1,676.76 Biweekly (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever higher.)
985.66 FLORIDA STATUTE REQUIREMENT:
Be at least 19 years of age.
Be a high school graduate or its equivalent as determined by the department.
Not have been convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement, or have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. Any person, who after September 30, 1999, pleads guilty or nolo contendere to or is found guilty of any felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement is not eligible for employment, notwithstanding suspension of sentence or withholding of adjudication. Notwithstanding this subparagraph, any person who pled nolo contendere to a misdemeanor involving a false statement before October 1, 1999, and who has had such record of that plea sealed or expunged is not ineligible for employment for that reason.
Abide by all provisions of s. 985.644 (1), regarding fingerprinting and background investigations and other screening requirements for personnel.
Execute and submit to the Department an affidavit-of-application form, adopted by the Department, attesting to his or her compliance with subparagraphs 1-4. The affidavit must be executed under oath and constitutes an official statement under s. 837.06. The affidavit must include conspicuous language that the intentional false execution of the affidavit constitutes a misdemeanor of the second degree. The Department shall retain the affidavit.

SPECIAL NOTES:
DJJ Detention facilities operate 24/7/365 and positions require shift schedules. Staff members must be agreeable to working shift schedules, including rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays with varying days off. There may also be times when unplanned overtime or unscheduled double shifts are necessary.

When identified on a position description, a valid driver's license is required. Successful candidate must be certified in accordance with the Department direct care training policy, and must obtain such certification within 180 days of employment.
For those candidates, not currently in the state system as a direct-care worker for DJJ at the time of application, the top-ranking candidate(s) after the interview phase will be required to take and pass an Ergometric's IMPACT Assessment and Training Test in order to be considered for the direct-care employment opportunity. This test will be used to measure the candidate's overall suitability for working with juvenile justice involved youth. Test results will be used for a period of six months after initial testing for candidates who reapply during that period for another position for which testing is required.

Reporting to the Security & Hospitality Manager, the Security Guard guards and monitors the Village On The Isle campus to ensure the highest level of safety and security for our residents and staff. The Security Guard respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Patrols the entire campus of Village On The Isle, including inside building and the outside perimeter
Observes, reports and documents all suspicious activities in Incident Reports
Compiles and submits daily report of activities to the Security Manager
Notify Facilities & Engineering of any maintenance safety hazard
Conducts hand and visual checks of doors, windows and other areas that should be locked and secured
Participates in ongoing in-service education and trainings
Attends meetings as requested
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

* Valet park and assist with transporting residents as requested. Schedule transportation for resident appointments.

* Report all irregularities or needed repairs observed during daily work (work orders).
