General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.

* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

DESCRIPTION
Learn to perform a variety of peace officer duties involving the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony. Provide information and assistance to the public. This is the first working level class in law enforcement expected to perform all duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace officer situations.

Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications to continue in the recruitment process:

Conduct auctions for unclaimed property. Provide for the destruction of evidence including narcotics as required.
Restore order, protect life and property and maintain the peace at public gatherings and in conflict situations.
Prepare and document cases, complete reports and records and prepare and maintain logs and records.
Investigate traffic accidents and provide traffic and crowd control as necessary. Participate in special details and assignments. Organize and coordinate special assignments such as crime prevention programs in the schools and the community.
Provide emergency aid and assistance to incapacitated persons and request additional response.
Provide information, direction and other services and assistance to the public. Participate in community events and present to small or large groups. Engage in community policing efforts, use crime analysis data and other interventions to reduce and prevent crime.
Direct the activities of police support personnel in field situations. Perform other duties which may be assigned.
Other duties:
After the Police Officer's probationary period has been met, may participate in special training programs and in special assignments/units as assigned and available upon successfully meeting special unity eligibility requirements and completing the special assignments application process. Participating in special assignments are not required and are in addition to the essential functions described above.

Welcoming & Check-In Experience

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Qualifications
At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology preferred.
Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus when paired with a strong commitment to guest-first, hospitality-focused service.
Meet the scheduling and availability requirements (i.e., ability to work a schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as mornings, days, nights, and weekends) to meet business needs.
Must have reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance.
Must pass all required background checks including state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
Possess valid driver's license or state ID.

Asset Protection Specialists are expected to maintain a visible and mobile presence throughout their shift. This is not a desk job-APS team members are regularly on their feet, engaging with guests, monitoring site activity, and supporting operations across the dispensary floor.

The recruitment process will include an oral interview, a physical agility test, a background investigation, a physical and psychological examination, and a Voice Stress Analysis examination. The POST Physical Fitness Test consists of the following components:
* 14 inch vertical jump
* Illinois Agility Run (19.5 seconds or less)
* 30 sit ups (1 minute or less)
* 23 push-ups (no time limit)
* 300 meter run (68 seconds or less)
* 1.5 mile run/walk (16:57 minutes: seconds or less)
Examples of Duties
Reserve Deputies assist regular Deputies in the enforcement of laws and in maintaining peace and order within the community. Reserve Deputies may be assigned to areas within the Office as needed. Reserve Deputies are required to work a minimum of 12 hours per month with two of the hours to be in the Jail. Reserve Deputies may act only in a supplementary capacity to the regular force.
Typical Qualifications
All applicants shall be required to meet and pass the same pre-employment procedures as regular Sheriff's Deputies before appointment.
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a high school education or GED
No person may be appointed to perform the duties of a peace officer unless he/she:
