Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Our Uniformed Division's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. Throughout its history, the Uniformed Division has accomplished this mission through individuals who embody honor, integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Today, the Uniformed Division has grown both in size and scope of responsibility and is mandated by law to provide physical security for the White House Complex and the vice president's residence at the Naval Observatory. It also provides security for the Treasury Department building and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C. Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.

Essential Functions (including but not limited to):
Security personnel are trained for several different posts including those detailed below. Working in conjunction with the airport and government agencies, the main priority of each position is to ensure that we maintain compliance with local and federal regulations in respect to each of the following:
Reporting actual or potential breach of Airport Security
Maintain all communication protocols in a professional and efficient manner
Alarm and emergency response including communicating with necessary airport community stakeholders and first responders to ensure timely response to all reported incidents
Maintaining access control to secured areas within the airport
Verify personal identification and access badge of person/people requesting entrance to secured areas
Vehicle inspection and access control in designated areas
Patrolling airside and landside areas of the airport; including parking lots, aviation department offices, construction sites, and providing traffic management in designated areas
Providing crowd control and interacting with traveling public in a professional and courteous manner
Prepare written reports and records of all events, i.e., discrepancies, security incidents or breaches.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Successful candidates with be motivated self-starters able to maintain situational awareness and vigilance in a fast-paced airport environment.
This position requires you obtain Airport Badging, and The Department of Homeland Security requires an extensive background check to obtain badging which include 10-year verifiable background check, including criminal, employment, credit, education, and personal references. Also, must be able to pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration.
Additionally, the following are minimum requirements for all qualification levels:
Must be at least 21 years old
Must have a valid State Security License
Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida Drivers license
Must be able to identify and manipulate power switches on inspection equipment, distinguish all colors displayed on such equipment, and explain what each color signifies
Must be able to hear and respond to audible alarms
Must be physically capable of performing the inspections required by the contract, good dexterity and hand eye coordination is required, physical ability to handle and manipulate baggage and containers; physically capable of performing a pat-down or hand-held metal detector inspection of individuals and reaching all parts of the individuals body with one hand
Proficient in the use of radio and telephone communications equipment and procedures

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, and involves exposure to noise, chemical, and other contaminants, moving mechanical hazards, and extremes of temperature and weather conditions.
