This is a seasonal position at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities:
As a State of Texas Level 2 licensed Security Officer, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, volunteers, lessees and all guests of Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Provide in-park security patrol, respond to security related incidents, screen guest at the front gate and complete any and all assignments given by Security management.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT:
Secure gates, checking, logging and clearing authorized personnel and vehicles presenting proper identification or passes attempting to gain access to the park.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information disclosed, accidentally discovered or communicated as an officer
Respond to security related incidents occurring on park property
Write clear and concise reports
Enforce local, state and federal laws on property
Safeguard company assets, property, equipment and facilities against illegal and destructive acts
Perform traffic control operations as required
Perform vehicle and bike patrol
Work directly with on-duty law enforcement personnel
Serving as dispatch operator as needed
Complete any and all tasks as requested by Six Flags Fiesta Texas Management
Comply with Six Flags Fiesta Texas handbook policies at all times
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be high school graduate or possess GED
Must possess a valid driver license
Must have a valid Texas Level 2 Security License
Must be able stand and walk for extended periods of time in south Texas weather
Must be willing and able to perform foot and bike patrols
Must be able to climb a 50' tower
Previous security related experience preferred
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Organized with the ability to multi-task
Safety conscious, mature, reliable and dependable
Outgoing and friendly demeanor

Law Enforcement
Patrol assigned campus(es) and routes walking or driving within district jurisdiction.
Provide law enforcement resources when necessary to maintain the peace on District property and campuses and at District-sponsored events. May restrict any person from entering on to District property.
Respond to all calls from campuses concerning crisis situations, accidents, and reports of crime.
Investigate criminal offenses occurring within district's jurisdiction.
Collect and preserve evidence for criminal investigations of violations of law on District property or at District-sponsored events including witness statements and physical evidence.
Notify the District's Chief of Police of every criminal investigation.
Take enforcement action on criminal offenses when appropriate and in accordance with laws, policies, and procedures.
Arrest perpetrators, file appropriate charges, and ensure placement in jail or juvenile detention centers for law violations as necessary.
Write effective legal incident reports.
Testify in court as needed.
Work cooperatively with other police agencies to share information and provide other assistance.
Safety
Officers are required to carry and monitor district issued radio for communication with campus administrators.
Help provide traffic control at athletic events, school closings or openings, or at any other time.
Provide protection to or escort district personnel as needed.
Operate all equipment including firearms according to established safety procedures.
Use sound judgment and effectively communicate with and elicit information from emotionally distraught students, staff, parents, and citizens.
Transport students in custody to appropriate facility in district-owned vehicle.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Must have understanding of WFISD Emergency Operations Plan and emergency procedures for Lockdown, Secure (Lockout), Shelter, Evacuate and Hold, and be able to train others with SRP's. Must be involved in all drills.
Remain vigilant at all times for suspicious activity or unauthorized persons by monitoring hallways, restrooms, etc.
Check perimeter of building, cafeteria, and parking lot for safety and security concerns.
Check all exterior doors for safety and security concerns.
Must stay updated on current trends in illicit drugs and gang identifications.
Administration
Meet daily with the campus administrator who has been designated as being charge of building security to discuss events scheduled for the day, special requests, and operations.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and documents required, including affidavits for arrest, incident reports, and activity reports.
Officers are required to complete a daily activity log and complete all incidents on district owned report writing database and refer students to teen court and juvenile detention as needed.
Must be a team member on the campus threat assessment team (where assigned)
Other
Use of cell phones/texting or use of other electronic devices should be limited only to business use or family emergency. At no time should use of phones be a distraction from required duties.
Officers are entitled to a 30 minute lunch break during their shift and that break must be taken on campus. Officers are subject to recall during lunch breaks and such breaks shall not be taken during peak times of school activity or student lunches.
Maintain confidentiality of student information in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Summary of Essential Functions
Provide security services to all patients, staff, and visitors for all facilities and grounds.
