Make recommendations to management on better safety and loss prevention processes as identified during daily routine.
Have knowledge of any life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV system computer, and other such equipment to complete job assignments. Ensure continuous and safe operation of all elevators and access doors. Know authorized contractor personnel who are responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer / market.
Communicate on a daily basis with Security Supervisor any new Security Issues or changes that need to be considered or implemented.

Patrols assigned areas of hospital campus to maintain an orderly and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Enforces Hospital policies and procedures, and applicable local and state laws. Responsibilities:
1. Actively patrol assigned area of jurisdiction on foot or in a vehicle, checking buildings and surrounding areas for criminal activity or unsafe conditions.

As part of the application process the applicant will be required to complete the United States Secret Service Applicant Physical Abilities Test (APAT). It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. It evaluates the applicant's ability to perform the physical tasks required on the job by measuring muscular and dynamic strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity and other factors related to physical aptitude. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

Additional credit with passing grade of 70% (for a maximum of 20 points):
Ten (10) points for minimum 2-years prior and continuous full-time police officer experience. SUMMARY
Performs the duties of an armed peace officer. Conducts field investigations and provides armed vehicular and foot patrol within jurisdiction. Patrols assigned areas, furnishes police protection to students, staff, visitors and the College community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Gathers and reports intelligence-related information in reference to the Public Safety Officer's assigned campus.
* Provides protection for persons and property.
* Responds to calls for assistance in life threatening, emergency and service related situations.
* Observes and investigates criminal activity and other incidents or conditions jeopardizing the safety and security of the community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma or GED.

* Must be able to maintain proficiency with a semi-automatic handgun and other required weapons.
* Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy state certification.
* Skills in keyboarding, basic math and grammar, and basic or standard word processing (MS Word) and/or spreadsheet applications (MS Excel).
* Proficiency with an email software package (MS Outlook) and the Internet.
* Valid Ohio Driver's license.
* Must have current certifications in First Aid and CPR.
* Must obtain certifications in AED, Awareness of HazMat, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Personal Awareness Protection

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
