The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Police Officer Recruit. This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The position work schedule is subject to a wide variety of shifts (i.e., day shift, swing shift, night shift, weekends, and holidays).

Hiring Incentive:

Test Date:

Written Examination:

After receiving written examination instructions from Human Resources, sign up to take the examination right away. Once you have taken the examination, be sure to share your results with the City of Chandler. Your examination results are good for 12-months; however, if you took the examination previously, you do not need to take it again. Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to City of Chandler Police Department. Preserves and documents crime scene by processing the scene for fingerprints and taking fingerprints and taking still photographs, videotaping or sketching the crime scene.
5. Enforces traffic laws and ordinances by checking vehicle speed; issues citations when violations are observed. Runs license/registration check on the driver on a stopped vehicle to determine if the motorist has outstanding charges/warrants.
6. Testifies in court regarding the facts of the case as known first-hand, evidence collected, notes, and actions taken. Presents a good appearance and credible image while appearing in court or at hearings. Appears in court to present evidence and sworn testimony on behalf of the SRPMIC.
7. Conducts self in a manner which maintains integrity; remains free from involvement in unlawful or inappropriate activities. Attends classes, workshops, and conferences on police procedures to updates and improve skills.
8. Adheres to all training, policies, procedures, chain of custody, rules of evidence and laws. Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience: Graduation from high school or GED. Must be able to obtain Arizona Police Officer Standard and Training (AZ Post) certification.
* Applicants that are not AZ Post certified Police Officers must pass a physical agility assessment and written assessment to be considered for hire with the SRPMIC Police Department. Failure to pass either of the components will be considered an automatic disqualifier.

Duties

The Intelligence Unit Special Agent works under the direction of the Intelligence Unit Supervisor and Manager. Special Agents in the Intelligence Unit are responsible for investigating complaints of illegal gambling to ensure compliance with the Arizona Tribal- State Gaming Compact, State, and Federal laws. Off Reservation complaints of Arizona Revised Statutes Title 13 may include gambling violations, racketeering, money laundering, and illegal criminal enterprises.
Job Duties:
As a Special Agent you will:
• Conduct criminal investigations of alleged violations of the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, State, and Federal laws.
• Document, gather, and preserve evidence for criminal and civil prosecution.
• Work in an undercover capacity and utilize surveillance techniques and surveillance equipment to document criminal activity.
• Conduct interviews of witnesses, confidential informants, utilizing physical and digital surveillance, preparing complex affidavits and search warrants, testifying in hearings, grand jury, and court proceedings.
• Participate in the execution of search warrants, arrest warrants, and make arrests where appropriate.
• Carry a firearm pursuant to the ADG policy and are responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the public, and the gaming tribes.
