POSITION SUMMARY
Patrol all areas of the property; assist guests with room access. Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system. Lock property entrances when required. Conduct daily physical hazard inspections. Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required. Assist guests/employees during emergency situations. Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents. Defuse guest/employee disturbances. Call for outside assistance if necessary. Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents. Handle all interruptions and complaints. Resolve safety hazard situations. Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation. Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts. Call for assistance using proper code responses. Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report. Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents; release information only to authorized individuals. Conduct investigations and gather evidence. Conduct interviews with relevant parties.
Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. It evaluates the applicant's ability to perform the physical tasks required on the job by measuring muscular and dynamic strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity and other factors related to physical aptitude. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under minimal supervision, coordinates the activities of an administrative or clerical support function for a department or unit. Develops and evaluates administrative policies and procedures.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class performs a variety of important administrative duties in developing and maintaining a departmental program, including complex and confidential executive level administrative support functions. Responds to inquiries from colleagues and visitors requiring a highly complex understanding of County and departmental administrative policies and procedures. Work requires a broad knowledge of county agencies and their operation as well as the identity of key staff in all departmental programs. The position also exercises discretion and independent judgment in day to day interaction with government staff at all levels, other government municipalities, community organizations, and the citizens of Guilford County. Representative inquiries may involve giving guidance to department employees, resolving issues brought to department management or influencing the resource planning process. Ensures escalated inquiries are addressed and resolved. Only the highest complexity of inquiries is referred to management. Work is performed under minimal supervision and is subject to review and evaluation through conferences, post-audits, personal inspections, written reports, and public acceptance.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Serves as administrative officer in a department overseeing purchasing, budget preparation and control, conducting personnel transactions, and acting for a superior in all routine matters in their absence.
* Performs administrative duties such as scheduling/maintaining calendar appointments, compiling/composing data, drafting/typing correspondence, agendas, meeting notices, minutes, media press releases, reports; scheduling activities, meetings, registrations, travel reservations and accommodations.
* Assists the director with departmental management activities; confers with representatives of other county departments and state agencies in administrative service problems.
* Coordinates assignment of computers, telecommunications, space, and building maintenance, by completing all necessary work orders and requisitions to ensure the staff has all required equipment in working order and all supplies.
* Creates, updates and interprets office administration policies and procedures.
* Coordinates and assigns work schedules to clerical and administrative employees.
* Trains others regarding policies and procedures.
* Audits work of others for accuracy.

General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.

* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).

Area Specialized Agent- 4-H/STEM (Avery County)

Works in partnership with the Extension Specialist in 4-H STEM to provide educational leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating research-based, integrated statewide Extension programs designed to meet the needs of limited-resource and socially disadvantaged audiences. Provides training and educational support to field staff and their clients in 4-H STEM, aligning with the philosophy, policies, mission, goals, and educational objectives of North Carolina A&T Cooperative Extension.
This role focuses on coordinating and developing youth programs within a designated cluster of counties (Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, Watauga, Wilkes, and Caldwell) to enhance skills and competencies in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). These programs are delivered in community-based settings through the 4-H program and partnerships across the state. Additionally, this position collaborates with other Area Specialized Agents on regional and statewide 4-H initiatives and programs. The position is based in Avery County.

The Cooperative Extension Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an educational outreach organization within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Campus Safety Officer Part-Time (Weekends)

SCOPE
Patrols 65 acres of land to include the perimeter of the campus, the interior of eight buildings, and the athletic complex to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Collaborates with the Campus Safety Manager to monitor the activities taking place on grounds, communicating pertinent information such as security breaches and threats to the Campus Safety Manager and the Director of Campus Operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect the school campus at least four times per shift and interact with school community members (students, employees, parents) on an ongoing basis to develop relationships, identify potential issues that need to be addressed, and ensure policies and procedures are being properly executed.
Act as the first responder to school emergencies and crises and provide necessary assistance and support to all involved.
Conduct regular safety patrols and pro-actively addressing concerns or questions within scope of work.
Write incident reports for any of the following: thefts, vehicle accidents, personal injuries, suspicious persons, vandalism, property damage, assaults, threats, false alarms, altercations that should be documented, the calling of fire, EMS, or police for any reason.
Ensure the locking of perimeter doors at the appropriate time and monitor the school's camera system via iPad or desktop.
Ensure all persons on campus are identifiable with the presence of a visible student, staff, visitor, parent, or contractor badge.
Monitor the activity of visiting groups for facilities rentals and contact the Associate Director of Campus Operations with concerns or issues.
Utilize events manager to input security related information regarding special events.
Utilize the work order system to record issues such as fire hazards, leaks, malfunctioning of any equipment or lighting that is causing a safety or security concern.
Be the primary contact for parking during school events with the assistance of other Campus Operations staff.

WORK SCHEDULE
Days: In general, this position is scheduled to work on campus Weekends year-round, but is expected to work as necessary to ensure that position responsibilities are consistently met. There may be certain work requirements that could result in the need for temporary modification of this schedule.
Hours: This position is scheduled to work 16 hours every other weekend. The actual times worked are determined by the supervisor and may fluctuate given the nature and seasonality of this position and are determined in coordination with the Campus Safety Manager and Director of Campus Operations.
