QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law and three years of related experience.
· Valid Kentucky Driver's License
Preferred:
· Kentucky Peace Officer Professional Standards Certification
Knowledge Of:
· Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites.

Job Summary:
Perform a variety of law enforcement activities for an assigned school District including enforcing state statutes, protection of life and property, suppression of criminal activity, apprehension and prosecution of offenders, regulation of non-criminal conduct, preservation of public peace, enforcement of traffic and parking regulations and conduct investigations.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform a variety of law enforcement activities for an assigned school District; exercise authority consistent with statutory obligations and comply with lawful orders.
· Maintain assigned equipment in proper working condition.
· Prepare and complete accurate and thorough reports of crimes, vehicular accidents and other incidents as necessary.
· Assist other law enforcement officers as needed.
· Maintain confidentiality of records and information according to established procedures.
· Assist injured persons and determine appropriate action; respond to emergency situations.
· Attend and conduct parent conferences regarding student criminal or code of conduct violations as needed.
· Provide proper referrals for incidents occurring outside the officer's area of authority or jurisdiction.
· Effectively communicate with community, staff, parents and students to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve issues or conflicts; maintain positive public relations.
· Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
· Prepare and conduct programing for staff and school age students.
· Conduct, record and maintain training records for the agency.
· Prioritize and plan work appropriately.
· Act with good judgement and determine appropriate action in high stress situations within clearly defined guidelines.

Your duties will include a variety of tasks. You will help maintain physical security of the program by conducting pat searches of individuals as well as building and vehicle searches. You will obtain resident urine and breath samples to discourage substance abuse. You will transport residents as needed. Staff also perform routine random inspections of the building and facility grounds to ensure orderly and safe operations. You will enforce rules and regulations and will document violations of rules as required. You will be expected to write incident reports and disciplinary reports. You will help to provide GPS/telephone-based monitoring of residents who have moved to home confinement. As needed, you may assist with community verification of residences and employment locations. You will interact on a daily basis, in a variety of circumstances, with individuals releasing from maximum, medium, and minimum-security prisons. The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.

Job Summary: Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, overseeing and integrating safety and security programs for the Center.
Duties:
Ensures the enforcement of all laws, rules and policies within his/her scope of authority.
Foot patrols all assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons and other unusual conditions.
Aids and assists visitors, students and staff in every way possible.
Performs building security and safety checks.
Receives complaints and performs appropriate investigations.
Provides transportation service as directed.
Investigates vehicle accidents at the Center.
Issues visitor passes and temporary parking permits.
Performs main entrance duty.
Assists staff in quelling disturbances.
Prepares written accident reports and other reports as required.
Coordinates recruiting, selecting and training of security cadets.
Participates in preparation and enforcement of Center's safety and fire prevention program.
Conducts daily briefing with security cadets that cover assignments, proper dress, and procedures.
Provides written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff.
Ensures all equipment is properly maintained.
Provides vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic.
Follows the CDSS/CSS/BMS plans and procedures daily.
Adheres to required property controls policies and procedures.
Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
Monitors, Mentors, and Models Career Success Standards.
Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
Assists in maintaining student security and accountability during the training day and evening by continuously walking through those training areas, cafeteria and participating in dorm or recreational activities and monitors grounds over the entire Center.
Performs other duties as assigned within the individual's scope and capabilities
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: Prior security experience preferred. At least one year in a residential living setting and background in youth programs or law enforcement is preferred. Safety related training preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred or combination of education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Driver's License - Class C.

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
Monitor and control access to the manufacturing and industrial location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
