Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.

Primary Purpose and Function

Provide safety and security services while on duty at any of the school campuses located on Siesta Key, Lakewood Ranch and Clark Road. Coverage may be for days, afternoons, evenings or weekends.
Ensure a safe learning environment for the school's students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors through high visibility and/or CCTV Monitoring.
Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic while also enforcing parking regulations on campus.
Support the DoHS and Campus Safety Officers with campus/building security.
Screen and authorize vehicles, guests, and vendors entering campus to ensure safety and security.
Investigate and prepare reports on incidents and accidents on ODA campus related to students and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:
High School degree required.
At least three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, public safety or the military. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
Current Florida “D” (Guard) License and “G” (Gun) License required. Weapons qualification under HR 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is preferred, but does not take the place of the required FL licensure.
Current CPR, First Aid and AED certification or ability to obtain before an offer of employment.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to write reports and routine correspondence.
Preferred NASRO basic School Resource Officer certification or equivalent.
