The Deputy Collector is responsible for the collection of all-current and delinquent taxes paid in this office, which includes personal and real estate taxes and improvement taxes. The Deputy Collectors are responsible for giving accurate amounts for delinquent real estate and delinquent personal property tax collections, giving base tax, penalties, and interest and advertising fees. The Deputy Collector is responsible for resolving problems/questions from customer over the telephone or in person concerning tax payments or delinquent tax bills, may direct caller to other offices or individuals within the office for assistance, and may perform research for statements, payments, etc. Ensure that all office functions are performed efficiently and in a professional and timely manner and that each situation is handled according to office policies. Is also involved in the collection and daily handling of the $300 million in taxes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accept tax payments received at the payment window, enter data in computers, and issue receipts for tax payments to the customers. Place office copy in receipt number order, place funds in cash drawers.
Accept payments made by mail, verify check amount with the Tax Collector's records. If amounts are incorrect or there is any type of problem, attempt to contact taxpayer by phone. If not possible, complete a form letter and inform the customer of the problem. Once form letter is completed, scan letter and check into taxpayers account and place message regarding letter in general comments.
Balance the receipts to the computer at the end of the day.
Enter accurate messages in computer to prevent errors and to inform other employees of potential problems with that taxpayer or his/her account. Always access messages to verify what you need to know before processing payments.
Enter address changes in computer for correct mailing of receipts and send to other departments for corrections on mailing of statements, etc.
Answer telephones, direct phone calls to appropriate person, or take messages in a polite and efficient manner. Provide assistance to caller with tax questions and or problems resolution.
Provide tax information to realtors, attorneys, abstractors, lending institutions, and individuals either by phone or in person.
Resolve problems and handle customers in a professional manner.
Provide tax clearance for individuals as well as other counties. Collect and forward payments for other counties to them. This enables us to give clearances from that county.
Always give good customer service to the public and treat everyone in a courteous and friendly manner. Make sure that information common to the Collector's Office is accurately given to all office contacts.
Ensure that tax money collected is counted correctly when received and counted back to the taxpayer correctly and the amount received is entered on receipts and on the computer for accurate tax accounting. If someone other than the taxpayer pays the taxes, then enter the payee's name for reference in case of refund, research, etc.
Conduct all liaison activities in a professional manner to ensure maximum cooperation between and among the County, the public, and other agencies.
Ensure that all duties assigned are performed in an efficient and responsible manner according to office policies and procedures.
Willingness and ability to be cross-trained on other employee's duties, in order for the functions of the office to be uninterrupted when someone is on vacation, ill, or leave of absence.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES and EXTRA RESPONSIBILTIES may assign to those employees with adequate experience and knowledge. These are employees who show initiative, time management, and ability to work with minimum supervision and express a desire to continue to grow in knowledge and responsibility. Extra duties and assignments have already been assigned to several of our Deputy Collectors by the Chief Deputy and the Collector. More assignments will be added to others in the future, as experience is adequate to do so.

This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSOs) within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Duties may include but are not limited to:
* Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
* Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs.

Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to the GS-5/6), you must meet one of the qualification requirements (A OR B) outlined below:
A. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security Industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
OR
B. Education: Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) high school equivalency certificate.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current TSA dress and appearance requirements. For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. These requirements dictate if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. Additionally, tattoos that are indecent, commonly associated with gangs, extremists, and/or supremacist organizations or that advocate sexual, racial, or religious discrimination, or have a negative impact on TSA's ability to carry out its mission must be covered at all times
Work Schedules for Full-time Positions: Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
* Full-time positions require 40 hours per week;
* Full-time work consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
* A "split-shift" consists of any two work shifts, each lasting at least two (2) hours in one 24-hour period, with at least two (2) hours between work shifts.
Work Schedules for Part-time Positions: Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
* Part-time shifts generally range from 16-32 hours per week

* Passing background investigations, including a criminal check and credit check, and all randomly administered drug and alcohol screening tests.
No moving, relocation or pre-employment travel expenses will be paid for this position, or while in application for this position.
