Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.

As a Deportation Officer at the full performance level you will perform the following duties:
* Performing law enforcement duties to investigate, identify, locate, arrest, detain, prosecute, and remove foreign nationals who pose a threat to national security and public safety, as well as those that enter the United States illegally with the intent to undermine the integrity of the nation's immigration laws and border control efforts.
* Conducting difficult, complex, and sensitive investigations that require development of new or substantially modified methods in order to resolve anticipated problems for the purpose of identifying violators of immigration laws through the use of investigative methods and techniques as well as determining citizenship, to include gathering facts and evidence pertaining to noncitizens who pose a threat to national security and/or public safety
* Conducting custody determinations regarding the detention of noncitizens in accordance with constitutional law, federal statutes, regulations and policies; coordinating and negotiating with domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies to manage the detention and removal of noncitizens in the U.S.; and sharing compiled actionable intelligence information with law enforcement intelligence communities.
* Interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects to gather critical information and evidence; obtaining and serving criminal and civil warrants of arrest; serving as agency lead on interagency, federal, state, and local law enforcement task forces to address threats to national security or public safety, as well as processing, detaining, and transporting noncitizens throughout the legal process.
* Determining legal sufficiency to identify cases that meet the elements of a federal crime and the prosecutorial guidelines of the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO); presenting cases for criminal proceedings; preparing and issuing subpoenas in support of criminal prosecutions; and initiating both criminal and civil prosecutions and deporting noncitizens to foreign countries as well as performing various aspects of custodial operations related to civil immigration enforcement.

* Assisting in preparing investigative reports in sufficient detail and accuracy to support possible prosecution and/or administrative action;
* Performing law enforcement support duties such as taking fingerprints and photographs;
* Conducting routine interviews; using various law enforcement methods and techniques (e.g., observation, interviews, document inspection, data analysis, etc.) to respond to a variety of immigration inquiries and complaints;
* Documenting, transporting, deporting, and/or escorting criminal and non-criminal aliens under the guidance of a more senior officer; OR
Education: A master's (or equivalent graduate degree such as a L.L.B/J.D.) or 2 academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Graduate level education must have been from an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate level education beyond the first full year and experience as described above that when combined meets 100% of the requirement. This includes successful completion of the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement & Removal Operations (ERO) Basic Immigration Law Enforcement Training Program (ICE_BIETP); ICE Detention & Removal Operations (DRO) Basic Immigration Law Enforcement Training Program (ICE_D); the legacy Immigration Officer Basic Training Course (IOBTC); the Border Patrol Academy (USBPI); the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Academy Officer Basic Training Program (OBT); the combination of both the legacy Basic Immigration Detention Enforcement Officer Training Course and the ICE DRO Equivalency Training Program (ETP); the ICE Special Agent Training Program; the combination of FLETC Criminal Investigator Training Program and the DRO Equivalency Training Program for Special Agents (ETPSA) and for legacy US Customs Special Agents, the ICE / Customs Special Agent Cross Training Program. Due to regulatory requirements, no other training will be accepted. (Note: Completion of training is subject to verification).
Note: If you previously completed one of the basic immigration law enforcement training courses listed above, but have had a significant break of three years or more from a position that initially required this training, you will be required to attend and successfully complete a new ICE basic law enforcement training course as a condition of your employment. Failure to successfully complete the academy will result in your removal from this position.
Note: Employees who do not successfully complete basic immigration law enforcement training and are terminated from training are ineligible to return to the ERO Academy for training, unless selected as a law enforcement officer under a different vacancy announcement. No one will be permitted to attend more than two ERO Academy training sessions.
Deportation Officer Transition Program (DOTP): Selectees who have not previously held a position as a Deportation Officer, Detention and Deportation Officer, Supervisory Deportation Officer, or Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer and have not previously attended the six-week DOTP will be required to do so after entrance on duty. Successful completion of this course is mandatory per agency policy. Failure to successfully complete the academy will result in your removal from this position.
Firearms Requirement: You will be required to carry a firearm while performing duties of this position. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. You must satisfactorily complete (or have previously completed) the firearms component of the Criminal Investigation Training Program at Glynco, GA. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition. A "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" is generally defined under the statute as any offense involving the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of deadly weapon, committed by the victim's current or former domestic partner, parent, or guardian. The term "convicted", as defined in the statute, excludes any person whose conviction has been expunged, set aside, or pardoned or any person whose civil rights have been restored unless the pardon, expungement, or restoration of civil rights expressly prohibits the possession of firearms or ammunition. Work Conditions: This job requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion. Surveillance frequently require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and crawling through a variety of terrain. The work involves high risks with exposure to a wide variety of potential dangerous situations and unusual environmental stress. The officer typically works long and irregular hours, on weekends, holidays, and at night.
Education
Physical Abilities Assessment: All applicants must pass the PAA prior to graduation from FLETC. The PAA consists of two parts: Criterion Task Test (CTT) and a 1.5 mile run. The CTT consists of a timed obstacle course that involves a vehicle exit, barrier surmount, low crawl, window egress, stair climb, repeat crawl, pre-cuffing position, 175 lbs. dummy drag, repeat barrier surmount, and a sprint. The CTT is then followed by a 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes and 30 seconds or less.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to drive an automobile or light truck. You may also need to obtain and maintain a state commercial driver's license to operate an over-the-road bus capable of transporting 30 or more persons.

**POSITION SUMMARY:**
The Police Officer performs assigned and self-initiated patrol activities during assigned patrol shifts or special assignments to enforce laws and applicable ordinances in order to maintain peace and order within the community. Responds to calls for service and assistance and initiates law enforcement contacts, as appropriate. Obtains appropriate information at the scene; determines whether a criminal or civil matter; evaluates information; determines if a criminal event has occurred and takes appropriate action. Provides information, advice and assistance regarding police and community services and crime prevention information. Operates assigned police vehicle, radio, telephone, personal computer with assigned software and uses authorized equipment and weapons, as appropriate, to perform essential job functions. Works under the direct supervision and direction of the assigned patrol sergeant.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Receives and responds to calls for service and assistance received from the communications center or from citizens of the community or other persons. Obtains and evaluates information; determines priority of action(s) necessary and takes appropriate action at the scene to detect and investigate crime and violations of law, protect and preserve life and property and enforce applicable laws and ordinances.
+ Initiates contact with reporting parties; criminal violators and suspects; victims and witnesses; and other persons as required or appropriate. Based upon probable cause, approaches, detains and takes custody of suspects; makes arrests; restrains and subdues suspects, as necessary and appropriate. Gathers information through interview and interrogation techniques. Records information and prepares interview notes and case reports. Searches people and property, as necessary and appropriate; collects and preserves evidence.
+ Performs traffic accident investigations and performs traffic enforcement activities during routine patrol, directed patrol and speed enforcement activities. Gathers and evaluates information and evidence from motorists and witnesses at the scene. Prepares accident reports. Issues summonses, as necessary. Requests medical assistance and provides first aid for injured persons, if required.
+ Gathers information, prepares, and submits reports in conformance with established policy and procedures through the use of a personal computer. Prepares and issues citations to violators of the law or appropriate ordinances. Checks reports and citations for legal sufficiency, completeness, correct spelling, grammar and construction.
+ Through thoughtful and knowledgeable questioning, determines customer needs and the information or service to satisfy those need(s). Customers include, but are not limited to: the general public, including crime victims, witnesses, suspects; other city employees and department staff **.** Takes an appropriate course of action and provides other city staff members; employees of other law enforcement agencies; probation, parole and jail employees; employees of the district attorney's office; employees of the department of motor vehicles; employees of ambulance companies and emergency medical treatment clinics with the necessary information.
+ Identifies and preserves crime scenes, as necessary, by photographing the scene, searching for clues, preserving evidence for later use and arresting criminal violators. Assists, coordinates and cooperates with other law enforcement officers and agencies; provides, obtains or coordinates information for crime-solving purposes.
+ Provides testimony in municipal, county and district court regarding police cases, including observations made, statements taken and evidence collected during a specific crime. Prepares for and provides courtroom testimony as necessary in the prosecution of persons accused of criminal activity and violations of the law or ordinances.
+ Operates an assigned police vehicle under normal and emergency driving circumstances, as authorized and in accordance with established department procedures and state law.
+ Provides information, advice and assistance to business-owners and employees, homeowners and citizens regarding crime prevention.
+ Operates a personal computer with assigned software to enter and retrieve data, write and review reports correspondence, forms, notes and other written materials from handwritten copy, handwritten notes, typed copy, interviews, taped voice recordings, in-person voice dictation and other source documents; checks for accuracy, completeness, correct spelling and grammar; reviews the work prior to obtaining approvals and signatures; makes and distributes copies as required. Requires proficiency in the use of a personal computer and word processing software and must have aptitude to learn various other computer software.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
**Minimum Qualifications for POST Certified Candidates:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent; and
+ Completion of a minimum of 60 semester hours of college-level course work or 90 quarter hours of college-level course work from an accredited institution, with grades of "C" or above **_at time of application_** , OR four (4) years of **_active-duty U.S. military_** service with honorable discharge ( **unofficial transcripts or DD-214 must be attached to application** ); and
+ Completion of an approved basic law enforcement training program course and current State of Colorado POST certification. Out of State applicants must possess a current Colorado POST Provisional certification at time of application (for more information about provisional certifications, visit: ******************************************************* ); and
+ Must be at least age of 21 years on the date of appointment to the position and no record of felony convictions.
+ Must have a valid driver's license.
**Minimum Qualifications for Lateral Candidates:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent; and
+ Completion of at least three (3) consecutive years of service as a full-time commissioned police officer in patrol level position, excluding part-time, military, detention or reserve police officer, within the six-month period preceding the date of application for a lateral entry position; and
+ Lateral entry police officers most recent three years of commissioned police officer service evaluation(s) must be documented as satisfactory or above. Must have no record of significant disciplinary actions for sustained violation(s) of law or policies for the three-year period immediately preceding the date of application for the position. The Chief of Police, in his/her sole discretion, shall determine whether a disciplinary action, if any, is significant. In addition, the applicant must sign a waiver and release form as provided or deemed necessary by the City of Littleton and/or the applicant's current and former employer(s) to permit the Chief of Police or other designated city employee unrestricted access to the applicant's personnel file or other relevant employment records for all employers. The purpose of this access is to permit a review of the applicant's current and former employment to determine qualification(s), suitability and fitness for employment with the Littleton Police Department.

Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, recruit, train and manage the newly formed Safety Ministry that will provide services at all seven weekend Masses. Oversee campus security in general, i.e., programs, systems, equipment, etc. Oversee and manage school safety protocols, drills, policies, etc. (in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance). Using the assessment reports of the campus and parish procedures, develop a plan for implementing suggested changes and improvements. Assist with applying for grants to fund aspects of parish security. Train parish staff in safety procedures and protocols. Identify scope of work and hours needed as Campus Security Coordinator efforts continue. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Physical Requirements: Visual acuity both near and far, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, and speech; ability to sit for extended periods; standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting as necessary to perform the duties of the position; ability to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds in weight.
Requirements: Significant employment experience in security administration or law enforcement, with school security experience a plus. Ability to organize and train volunteers of various ages and backgrounds to apply basic safety procedures and protocols. Concealed Carry required, including a valid CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit). Work under one supervisor, while coordinating responsibilities with other directors (dotted line reporting). Excellent interpersonal communication and motivational skills. Superior prudence and judgment. Proven experience managing projects, budgets, and deadlines.
