Qualifications: Preferred at least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice provider in the outpatient setting. Gastroenterology experience is desired but not required. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program Current national certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Current state license and registration. Valid DEA license Certified in BLS endorsed by the American Heart Association. Responsibilities: Conduct routine and urgent patient visits in a gastroenterology clinic setting, seeing both new and established patients. Perform history and physical examinations on new and return patients, establish presumptive diagnoses, and order appropriate laboratory studies and tests. Respond to nurse triage line tasks. Perform prior authorizations and write letters of medical necessity. Communicate effectively with patients and other care team members. Follow up on test results and communicate with patients. Provide necessary patient education. Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record. Consult with supervising physicians or colleagues for complicated cases or those outside the scope of practice. Consider individuals' cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors in creating treatment and care plans. Perform other duties as assigned. This is a large and busy Radiation Oncology department located in two locations within the hospital and requires a therapist to be on call for add on or urgent cases. Call is rotated on a weekly basis among the 11 therapists. The department consists of three Linear Accelerators and two CTs. They also provide High Dose Rate Brachytherapy in the department. Delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters. Ensures services have prior authorizations and updates patients on their preauthorization status. Coordinates peer to peer review if required by insurance. Maintains files for referral and insurance information, and enters referrals into the system. Maintains knowledge of and reference materials of the following: Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements, guidelines and policies, insurance plans requiring pre-authorization and a list of current accepted insurance plans. Runs system-generated reports to verify insurance verification/authorization is being done timely prior to the patient's date of service; verifies the insurance benefits and eligibility either by phone or online for every patient that is scheduled Responds to patient calls about how out of network insurance is handled and provide patient with letter explaining this if necessary. May need to respond to patient inquiries about their insurance benefits. Assists physician's office staff with any insurance benefit questions and educate them on any changes to the insurance companies' verification/pre-certification process for the facility. Neuro Interventional Radiology: The NIR Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Neurologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. Responsibilities And Duties: 75% In Role specific listed below per procedural area Cath Lab Specific: (Level 3 Lab- Ohio Admin Code) The Senior Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for coronary, peripheral, and structural heart procedures. The Senior Technologist must meet all requirements of the procedural job code: knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, sterile technique and knowledgeable of all inventory items and equipment in the department.
