Ohio State University Medical Center company history timeline

1914

With that in mind, leaders at The Ohio State University opened our College of Medicine in 1914.

1915

In 1915, Mabel Roe Codding Clovis became the first woman to graduate from Ohio State’s College of Medicine.

1933

In 1933 The Alpha Omega Alpha Gamma (AOA) Chapter was founded at Ohio State in 1933.

1958

Bertha Bouroncle, MD, led an Ohio State team that developed a lifesaving drug (deoxycoformycin) protocol to treat hairy cell leukemia, a disease she identified in 1958.

1968

In 1968 Researchers developed the Hunt and Hess scale to classify the severity of a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

1974

In 1974 Creative Living, an 18-apartment unit complex, opened just east of Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center for physically disabled adults as an alternative to skilled nursing facilities.

1986

A second 16-unit building opened in 1986.

1991

Incorporated in 1991, OSUHP is the Ohio State-owned Health Plan for faculty, staff, and dependents.

1995

Before becoming dean of the College of Medicine in 1995, Doctor Bernadine Healy was the first woman admitted to Harvard’s cardiology program, the first female White House science-policy adviser and the first woman to direct the National Institutes of Health.

2005

Additionally, he has four years of sales experience on the retail side with National City Insurance Group that was purchased by ESI. In 2005, Ted received a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.

2008

In 2008 The National Institutes of Health awarded a $34 million, five-year CTSA grant to The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital to fund the Center for Clinical and Translational Science.

2011

Ted came to The Ohio State University in June of 2011 as the Director of Business Development for the Rx Ohio Collaborative.

2013

Doctor Bain has also represented AMCP at PCORI’s workshop on second-line treatment of diabetes, participated in the AMCP diabetes partnership forum, and served as AMCP’s representative for the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Education 2013 Educational Outcomes Panel.

Stefanie has been with the OSU Health Plan since 2013.

2018

In 2018, he was named among the “40 Under 40” by Business First.
