Brian Gragnolati is President & CEO of Atlantic Health System. He also serves as Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association (AHA), dedicated to leading, representing and serving hospitals and health systems in their work to advance the health of individuals and communities. In 2007 and again in 2015, Brian received the AHA’s Partnership for Action Grassroots Champion Award, recognizing a hospital leader who has effectively educated elected officials on major issues affecting hospitals, while advocating for patients and the community. With $3 billion in revenue and 17,000 employees, Atlantic Health System serves more than half the state of New Jersey, including 11 counties and 4.9 million people. The system cares for patients at more than 400 sites of care, including Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, Goryeb Children’s Hospital and Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, Newton Medical Center in Newton, Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute, Atlantic Visiting Nurse, Atlantic Ambulance Corporation and Atlantic Medical Group, which employs over 1,100 community-based physicians. Prior to his tenure at Atlantic Health System, Brian served as Senior Vice President, Community Division of Johns Hopkins Medicine and President and CEO of Suburban Hospital. He previously held executive positions at WellSpan Health, the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Analysis from the University of Connecticut, an MBA from Western New England College and an Executive Leadership Certificate from the JFK School at Harvard University. He is an active member of the board of Paper Mill Playhouse. He and his wife, Donna, live in Mendham, New Jersey.

Howard P. Kern is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sentara Healthcare, a not-for-profit integrated health system headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Kern has nearly 40 years of executive management experience spanning hospital, managed health insurance, ambulatory services, and healthcare finance leadership. Mr. Kern became President & CEO of Sentara Healthcare in March, 2016. He began his career with Sentara in 1980 as an Administrative Resident at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he served in numerous positions prior to being named Senior Vice President for the health system in 1995. Mr. Kern was appointed as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 1998 and was promoted to President & Chief Operating Officer in January, 2003.

Richard Lofgren works at UC Health and a Chief Executive Officer at UC Health, Professor at University of Kentucky, and President/CEO at University of Cincinnati Acade and is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has worked as VP:Health Care Ops/Chief Clinical at University of Kentucky. Richard works or has worked as FELLOW at Organization of Chinese-Americans Inc. He studied at University of Minnesota School of Public Health and University of Michigan.
