About the Role: The Chief Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the Estimating team for various electrical construction projects. This includes administering operating budgets, staffing, work assignments, salary and performance reviews. The Chief Estimator will also support and administer all department standards and procedures as well as be responsible for the final review and approvals of estimate packages. The Chief Estimator will coordinate with the Operations Manager and Division Manager for the selection of projects to pursue. You will be responsible for preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, developing cost estimates, analyzing drawings and specifications, and coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely project deliverables. You will be responsible to help develop technical proposals and schedules. You will play a critical role in bridging estimating, engineering, and field operations - helping to translate conceptual designs into constructible, cost-effective solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (Engineering preferred). 5-7+ years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or preconstruction. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials. Experience with Bluebeam, CADD software, and estimating tools such HeavyBid, or equivalent platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Key Responsibilities Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate material and labor estimates. Perform detailed takeoffs using McCormick or similar estimating software.
