SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The primary role of the IC&E Tech is to provide daily leadership to the Maintenance department towards the objectives of safe, efficient and profitable operation of the facility. Assists in developing and administering departmental budgets and capital projects. Assist in the professional development and growth of personnel assigned to the Maintenance department. Leads by example and provides a role model for the high standards of professional conduct. Responsible for maintaining all plant IC&E equipment that includes instrumentation, controls, computer, and electrical equipment. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The IC&E Tech reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, works in cooperation with the Operations department on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant and responds to direction from the O&M Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include: working on feet for up to 12 hour periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 75 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
