Role Overview Provide leadership and direction to employees to attain short- and long-term goals, optimize team effectiveness, and meet daily work schedules in the Shipping/Warehouse departments. Key Responsibilities Ensures policies are established to maintain safety rules and practices, environmental and housekeeping standards while striving for ZERO Accidents. Understands customer quality requirements, assures supervisors understand and follow these requirements. Develops, implements, and assures procedures are followed to detect and eliminate non-conforming incoming supplies/outgoing shipments. Develops, implements, and assures procedures are followed for the Shipping/Warehouse department. Coordinate purchase of supplies necessary to ensure functioning of the Shipping/Warehouse department. Works cross departmentally to achieve plant goals and objectives. Coordinate with Shipping/Warehouse Supervisors to ensure functioning of Shipping/Warehouse department. Supervise, train, and develop, and review Shipping/Warehouse supervisory staff. Communicate key metrics to Plant Manager and Supervisory teams to stimulate process improvement and cost reduction Develop and maintain procedure manual and training aids. Gather and analyze data; make and implement recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions. Complete required reporting and documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned. Must act in accordance with WE CARE. Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures and to uphold values inherent to Oil-Dri, including Lesson's learned. Qualifications Education: College Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience; must pass all job-related assessments.     Maintenance - Machinist Department: Maintenance Technicians Reports To: Maintenance Technician Supervisor Machinist sets up and operates most types of conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, bench, plane and universal milling machines, shapers, planers, internal and external grinders, and radial drills. Takes bar stock of various metals, common metal alloys and other materials from raw stock to finished product. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Designs and constructs large scale machine projects. Manufactures and assembles a complex machine with multiple drive systems and orientation devices. * Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, and other specifications. * Determines feeds, speeds, tolerances, and sequences of machine operations on a variety of machine tools. * Selects and shapes cutting and grinding tools. * Makes all set ups and adjustments machines, making trial cuts as necessary. * Finishes metal by hand or machine. * Fits parts of assembly with small hand and power tools and assembles individual parts into complete units. * Performs arc welding, acetylene brazing, cutting torch, and routine layout. * Keeps areas clean and free of clutter. * Observes all safety rules and regulations. * Performs other duties assigned. * Must act in accordance with WE CARE. * Participates in improvement activities. * Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures to uphold values and inherent to Oil-Dri. Qualifications: * Pass the pre-employment tests at required results (WPT, Quantitative, verbal, BMCT) * Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents. * Must be proficient in the use of specialized measuring instruments such as venire calipers, inside and outside micrometers, surface gauges, center head protractors, and dial indicators. * Must be knowledgeable in shop mathematics and standard handbook formulas in computing dimensions for planning and laying out work. * Must be able to read and understand shop manuals, parts diagrams and schematic drawings. * Must have ability to read blueprints and create documents and blueprints of parts made. * Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Must have at least 5 years of dedicated machining experience. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment. * Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently. * Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently. * Must be able to work at heights of 100 feet or greater. * Must be able to hear radio and telephone communication.
