Responsibilities
Complete all functions necessary in performing quality echocardiograms, stress echoes and vascular studies. Responsible for reporting interpretations to physicians when completed. Works with general supervision, structuring own work patterns within a general outline, referring unusual situations or problems to physician / supervisor. Travel to rural locations may be required.
Essential Functions:
* Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies and stress echoes as directed by physicians
* Assist in pulling patients back, preparing patient for ultrasounds and vascular studies
* Schedule PM's on ultrasound equipment when needed
* Assist in calling service on equipment as needed
* Responsible for completing all paperwork such as daily exam reports and logs
* Prepares room and equipment in advance and ensures that assigned area is kept clean, orderly, and stocked
* Ability to carry and transport portable ultrasound equipment (as needed)
* Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint area of imaging
* Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound
Licensure/Certification: Current ARDMS or CCI or registry eligible and pass registry within one year of date of hire; and BLS certification
Experience: Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging. One (1) year of experience preferred.
Working Knowledge: Can manipulate the ultrasound equipment to adequately perform general, vascular, and echocardiogram exams. Can detect abnormal pathology and image the pathology. After finishing an ultrasound study, capable of sending high quality exams to the PACS System and then completing studies in the Cerner Computer System.

May provide assistance to physicians in the following procedures:
Pericardiocentesis
Myocardial biopsy
CV access guidance
Assists with operative cases:
TAVR
Appendage closure device placement
Mitral clips
ASD/ PFO closure
Venous ablations
May provide sonographer support for Advanced Heart Failure which includes but is not limited to:
Mechanical circulatory support devices
LVAD
RVAD
Impella
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
Congestive Heart Failure Maintenance
Heart Transplant management pre and post operative
Perform 12 lead EKG
Perform VO2 Exercise Testing (BMC Only)
May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Completion of a CAAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program or equivalent clinical experience (Students must be within 60 days of graduation to be eligible for employment)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
ARDMS-RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) OR ARRT-S (Sonography) OR ARRT-CI (Cardiac Interventional Radiography) OR CCI-RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer)
BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Other certifications and competencies required based on service line skill
SKILLS:

**Job Summary:**
Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. The registration requirement for this position is a registered sonographer holding two or more registries appropriate for the department(s) in which the sonographer works. Ex: ABD/OB, ABD/MSK, ABD/BR, OB/FE.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Second registry must be used in primary department or secondary department 30% of the time.
+ Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
+ Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
+ Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
+ Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
+ Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
+ Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, images labeled correctly and patient data/history).
+ Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department.
+ Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.

+ Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, images labeled correctly and patient data/history).
+ Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department.
+ Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Responsibilities
Complete all functions necessary in performing quality echocardiograms, stress echoes and vascular studies. Responsible for reporting interpretations to physicians when completed. Works with general supervision, structuring own work patterns within a general outline, referring unusual situations or problems to physician / supervisor. Travel to rural locations may be required.

* Assist in pulling patients back, preparing patient for ultrasounds and vascular studies

* Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint area of imaging
* Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound
Licensure/Certification: Current ARDMS or CCI or registry eligible and pass registry within one year of date of hire; and BLS certification
Experience: Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging. One (1) year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Radiology Manager and/or physician reading the study, performs all types of general ultrasound procedures, echocardiograms, and non-invasive vascular procedures utilizing independent judgement and initiative. Provides personalized care, recognizing the worth and dignity of each patient. Handles confidential information regarding patients. Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Sonographer's will work set days and hours during the week. If some shifts are not staffed, then work schedules may change. The Radiology Team Leader will arrange the work schedule to make sure that patients will receive high quality ultrasound procedures 24 hours a day. Call will be required, so exams ordered after normal working hours can be performed.
Qualifications

Exposed to moveable equipment, chemical fumes from processors while developing films, patients with contagious diseases, electrical equipment, ionizing radiation, and contamination or infection through accidental needle puncture or exposure to blood and/or body fluids. Occasional exposures to odor, blood, chemical irritation, and a variety of constant interruption, frequent emergency call back causing erratic working hours and overtime, and works in a darkened room up to 60% of the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
* ARDMS-RDMS (ARDMS-REGISTERED DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER) OR ARDMS-RDCS (REGISTERED DIAGNOSTIC CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER) OR ARDMS-RVT (ARDMS-REGISTERED VASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST) within 12 months of hire
* BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
* Lakeside Women's Hospital: Knowledge of preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies preferred.
EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's degree
