Pros of working at Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics

The incredibly gifted students are the only positive about OSSM. Sadly, they are often so grateful for attending such a school, they suffer in silence and at the hands of the administration. These kids are in a school with bars of the dorm windows, if that says anything.

Cons of working at Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics

80-90s culture, STEM school that didn’t even have WiFi until a few years ago but has bars on dorm windows, board members even teaching courses and being paid (incredible conflict of interest), male employees super inappropriate and unchecked, a growing budget with a shrinking student body…..

Teachers retirement. This state agency pays your portion as well as the states. So thank you tax payers for that. No other agency does this. Kind of odd.

Pros of working at Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics

Poor working conditions, restricted, super controlling, old structure working environment.

Cons of working at Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics

It has its structural problem. The admin of the school is dictatorial, living in the distant past. Too much power concentrated on one person ( the head of the school ) is nonconducive to growth and freedom.
