Reports improper working equipment Monitors patient's physiological status and responses to therapy such as vital signs, breath sounds, respiratory rate and pattern, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes. Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and assists patient in performing breathing exercises. Performs basic life support measures, and responds to emergent patient situations. Documents patient care in patient's EMR. Records accurate patient charges Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to orientees. Instructs assistants in treatment procedures, and provides them with supervision while they are working with their patients. Communicates with Physicians, other department staff, patients and family members regarding patient progress, problems and plan. Documents the treatment in concise format in accordance with Standards of Practice. Instructs the patient, family members or other caregivers in therapeutic procedures and/or exercises to be continued upon discharge. Assists in the referral process when additional services are required. Possess interpersonal skilled needed to function in a “team setting” Creates a positive, supportive working atmosphere. Works in harmony with assigned co-workers and other department staff. Demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change. Displays self-respect and pride in the institution. Maintains and promotes a positive attitude. Demonstrates kindness, courteousness, and sensitivity to patients, families, physicians, co-workers and visitors at all times. Maintains confidentiality as defined by hospital policy. Adheres to hospital Policy and Procedures. Performs quality work in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
