Department Description: Wilson Health's Radiology and Imaging Services Department performs diagnostic tests that doctors request to help make a more accurate diagnosis. At Wilson, we use a variety of imaging technologies (Bone Density Testing, CT Scans, CT Heart Screening with Calcium Scoring, 3d Digital Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Ultrasounds, and X-Rays) to help us obtain detailed views of our patient's internal anatomies, to minimize the need for invasive diagnostic surgery. The department is staffed with highly-trained radiology personnel and several board-certified radiologists, who are trained to read in specific, diagnostic areas. All images are stored on our state-of-the-art Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), which allows physicians to view the images on a computer and send and receive images with other physicians for consultation purposes.
Job Summary: The Echo/Vascular Ultrasound Tech operates ultrasound equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and/or invasive procedures, as directed by Radiologist. Maintains both quality and quantity of the patient workload at the professional level demonstrated in the department.
Displays an understanding of procedures and equipment utilized throughout the department. This includes abdominal, OB, Vascular, non-invasive vascular, along with general ultrasound, as well as echocardiography procedures and equipment, including PACS
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and ARDMS registry or registry eligible.
One-year experience in ultrasound and radiology preferred.
Current BLS certification
ARDMS (RVT, RDCS) or CCI (RVS, RCS) Certified

Summary:
The UltrasoundTechnologist (Sonographer) - Gen/Vascular uses high-frequency sound waves to generate images of patients' internal organs and blood vessels. They ensure patients are prepped for examinations, perform ultrasound scans, and analyze sonograms for diagnostic purposes. The role requires advanced technical skills, patient-centered care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Essential Work Functions:
• Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate diagnostic imaging into patient care plans
• Prepare and position patient to ensure accurate imaging and prioritize their comfort and safety
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations of general and vascular studies
• Evaluate images for clarity and accuracy
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot all ultrasound equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards
• Apply technical expertise and critical thinking to perform sonographic procedures effectively
• Work efficiently in fast-paced and high-pressure environments while maintaining professionalism
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
