Manages the Video Remote Sitter by monitoring patients who are in the VRS camera to keep them safe from falls, removing lines and drains, elopement and similar situations.• Coordinates with AvaSure when the VRS camera is down and troubleshoots them.• Documents in Epic and utilizes Epic in-basket for orders.• Assists with the maintenance of unit supplies to ensure the smooth function of the unit, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making up charts.• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) and ensures accurate documentation.• Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills as outlined in the skills checklist including: measurement of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output.• Performs or assists patients with the activities of daily living. Prepares patients for transportation and/or transport. Floats for various inpatient units to provide direct patient care such as vital signs taking, accuchecks, specimen collection and sending them to lab, personal hygiene, assists with feeding and tidying the patientrsquo;s rooms.middot; Remove patient peripheral IV lines, foley catheters and a-lines at certain units.middot; Keep patient safe by providing 1:1 direct patient care as a bedside sitter.

The compensation range for this position is $18.89per hour - $30.6per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.
Set up and adjust all imaging equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:

In this role, you will:
Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling.
Perform gross description and dissection of specimens received.
Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
Describe gross anatomic features of routine, uncomplicated surgical specimens, ensuring that all lesions, marking and sutures are mentioned.
Reviews clinical information provided to determine what pathologic examination is pertinent.
Examines the gross specimen with knowledge of pathologic conditions that may be present and the questions that must be answered.
Dictate the finding in a clear, complete, sufficient manner.
Selects pertinent tissue samples for slide preparation, providing photographs and/or diagrams of specimen and dissection of specimen, prior to and/or after dissection, when requested and/or indicated.
Escalates non-routine, complicated surgical specimens to a Grossing Tech II or Pathologist Assistant, as needed.
Maintain general appearance of the laboratory.
Comply with all OSHA laboratory safety standards and regulations.
Routine handling of biohazardous and/or chemical hazardous material.
Participate in applicable safety training sessions. Know the location and contents of the safety policies and procedures and safety equipment.
Maintain compliance with company and department policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client and/or company records and issues. Adhere to department schedule to meet workflow demands.
Communicate effectively with all levels of management, co-workers and clients to provide quality customer service.
Work effectively within a team-orientated department and company.
At times, overtime, on call or altered scheduling may be required.

What will you be doing in this role?
The Biomedical Technician participates on wet- and dry- laboratory projects and may execute tasks requiring compliance with all Federal and State accrediting agency requirements and/or GLP. Responsible for assigned wet lab work, lab maintenance, and writing and recording controlled documents. Performs all activities strictly according to SOPs, with accurate documentation, and may assist quality control team with required testing activities. Installs and maintains laboratory equipment to ensure accurate functioning of devices. Assists in addressing complex issues and troubleshooting.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of process development tasks for multiple clients following standard operating procedures that will be different for each project based on the type work.
Writes and maintains good documentation in laboratory notebooks, data records/transfers, SOPs, and batch records.
Drafts standard operating procedures and maintains computer database.
Verifies samples received, logs samples into systems, and may transport to the appropriate environment within the facility for storage following SOPs.
Performs lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization.
Maintains lab equipment and related records.
Prepares and maintains material inventories, and places orders for equipment and supplies.
Assists in the operation of specialized equipment and machinery.
Ensures all activities align with regulatory guidelines and safety standards, as appropriate. Interacts with core laboratory customers with integrity and respect and communicates effectively with the customers.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate Degree in biology, biochemistry, or related science or engineering specialization is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience & Skills:
One (1) year of experience working in a lab or biotech environment.
A minimum of one (1) year working with biomedical equipment, including maintenance and/or testing, is required.
Must have outstanding interpersonal, communication, organization skills, and the ability to work across company fields and functional units, and computer application experience.
